CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) work together to stop Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) from marrying Lydia (Winona Ryder).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Thanks to the carelessness of a cute little dog, newlyweds Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin are killed in a freak auto accident. Upon arriving in the outer offices of Heaven, the couple finds that, thanks to a century's worth of bureaucratic red tape, they're on a long celestial waiting list. Before they can earn their wings, Davis and Baldwin must occupy their old house as ghosts for the next fifty years. Alas, the house is now owned by insufferable yuppies Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones. Horrified at the prospect of sharing space with these obnoxious interlopers, Davis and Baldwin do their best to scare O'Hara and Jones away, but their house-haunting skills are pathetic at best. In desperation, the ghostly couple engage the services of a veteran scaremeister: a yellow-haired, snaggle-toothed, profane, flatulent "gonzo" spirit named Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton). The problem: Beetlejuice cannot be trusted-especially when he falls in love with O'Hara and Jones' gloomy, black-clad teenaged daughter Winona Ryder. Beetlejuice producer David Geffen, director Tim Burton, and composer Danny Elfman were also involved in an animated TV-series spin-off.

"Beetlejuice!"
"Eeeeeek!"
Best thing ever.
Actually that is the reason why I'm here! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA BEST THING EVER!
Kind of do that when my boss calls me ahahahahahahahhaahah
KingCaesar001 oh my god I love that part it makes me laugh every time XD
STRIKE~!
KingCaesar001 1:10- when your mom makes you get up on a Saturday morning!!!
One-thousandth like! Also, YES! LOL!
0:29 "I'm Lydia Deetz and I'm of sound mind. The man next to me is the one I want. You ask me, I'm answering. Yes, I love that man of mine."

Me too. It makes me laugh 😂
Learn to throw your voice ,fool your friends
I love how he pointed his eyes upward when he said yes I love that man of mine because some girls do that XD
Same lmao
Me, three! It makes me laugh. 😂
Look at Winona's face at 1:31--looks like she broke character, having too much fun watching Michael.
Stephanie Santos could be explained away by saying she thought she might get out of it if he didn’t have a ring
Stephanie Santos Lol that’s so cute
Oh she definitely started to break there. Michael Keaton improvised a lot of his lines and actions so he probably caught her off guard.
I didn’t know that.
@@boccs9925 lmao didnt know that before. I'm surprised they didnt shoot that scene again cuz her reaction kinda doesnt make sense in that situation
“I’m telling ya honey she meant nothing to me. Nothing at all “ 😂

Said every guy ever caught cheating
Then why did he marry her? LOL
Then why keep the finger?
I love the exaggerated tap dance he does from 0:48 to 0:53 and the little neck jerk he does after he yells "Scram!!!" He's literally like an animated character. Keaton is masterful.
the irony is they made a cartoon based off him
Very masterful indeed
Michael said in interviews his inspiration was (and stage name came from) Buster Keaton.

@@Meltedcheese567 Yes. As I said, he’s literally LIKE an animated character. Not literally an animated character. Try better next time. Thanks for playing.

@@UwU-nh1je LMAO
Lmao. Underrated comment
The worst things in history are things that are true. Sometimes they're funny things too.
The thing about Beetlejuice I kind of love is that he is truly chaotic neutral. Not evil. Notice how he never kills anyone of the main characters despite fully having the capability of doing so. He literally just wants to escape, and from there just do whatever he wants.
Probably wouldn’t be good for the world if he did escape though.
I wouldn’t say he’s chaotic neutral as much as he’s very neutral evil. He’s a shady con-man with a short temper who is VERY capable of murder. He comes very close to killing chuck during the snake scene and pushes Otho down a flight of stairs, but only DOESN’T kill anyone because he’s literally BOUND by CONTRACT only to run them out. He could’ve very well killed the New York art people by flinging them that high. The only real reason he DOESN’T kill is he thought he would gain freedom. (And also REALLY likes Lydia, no doubt in my mind he would’ve done something to her had they gotten married.) But when he loses his cool in the movie is what really makes him a dangerous villain. He seems almost bipolar in how short his temper is.
He murders two people in the film.
@@ShawnFerrellwho?
@@landonsims8758 Beetlejuice. He kills the two dinner guests by blasting them through the ceiling head first. You never see them again.
@@ShawnFerrell well they might be alive idk people have fell through a Selling
Absolutly magnificent preformance from Keaton. He should've won an Oscar.
That whole cast was legit
I watched this movie a lot as a kid. As an adult, his exasperated COME ONNNN at 0:54 always comes into my head when someone's taking way too long to do something or I'm frustrated, like during traffic etc. It makes me laugh now to watch that
🤣
Micheal went full on Jim Carrey there!
@@Otisboy121 Jim who? He wasn't even an idea back when this movie came out.

“Yes I love that man of mine.”
Way his face delivers it cracks me up
2:25 I kind of feel sorry for Beetlejuice. I know he's already dead and he was using Lydia to get into the real world and reek havoc upon the living, but he did help save Adam and Barbara from being Exorcised.
Bob L-B people have no common decency to thank others these days. Smh
@@luccirobbins6675 This movie came out 30 years ago lol
Jacket Jackson that’s where it started.
He held up his bargain, then she backed out of it.
This is way I personally think that Beetlejuice isn’t the bad guy. Its the human characters that are the true bad ones
Sandworms, you hate 'em, right? I hate 'em myself!
1:10 EEEEE!!!! Lol
"She meant nothing to me! Nothing at all!" Who knew this throwaway visual gag and line would become a plot point for the sequel? In the official trailer, we see a ghost woman with stitches and a missing ring finger on one of her hands who is looking for Beetlejuice.
@@EHH246 BJ(musical): Foreshadowing!
Yep, but I was disappointed they didn’t even go into detail with the ring in this scene for Delores. Like showing her losing her finger.

Beetlejuice: Ah! Oooh! Ah! Ah! Ah! Nobody says the "B" word, come on.
Love that part.
Maybe he should've said, "Nobody says the "B" word till the ceremony's done."
I love beetlejuice. The guy gives them even more time to defeat him just for a couple gags. Like when hes trying to find the ring. When you ruin your own plans for a joke, thats a real crazy villain.
And, ironically, he was defeated by the pair he saved from exorcism
Beetlejuice runs on toon logic.
He may not actually be a toon (in the movies) but his abilities, and NEED to play into the gag, follow toon rules.
Beetlejuice screaming right before the sandworm eats him is hilarious.
“Beetlejuice!”
“EEEEEEEEEEEEK”
Did anyone notice that she wouldn't deny anything beetlejuice said after he spoke for her.
@Riff Tallan
Yep guess she's got some feelings for him.
The animated series seemed to hint at such as well.
If there is a sequel they should get married for real at the end.
Either that, or she was stunned being mimicked.
Riff Tallan maybe after seeing what he did to the others when they spoke she was scared 🤷🏼♀️
He can possess the living maybe he made her mute
Either way they're ment for one another
2:19 his scream cracks me up😂😂
I love when she says his name the first time she just looks annoyed, and his scream when he hears it
“do you beetle?”
and that’s why we always put a comma after dearest, my friends.
I don't know why but I feel like this is a reference to Hamilton.
It probably isn't.. but like. Y'know.

It’s so cartoonishly Jim Carrey!
1:09 i came here since the full official trailer of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice included this part right here
for a sequel, like me, would anyone else want to see Winona Ryder back too?
futuremovieactor Me. And they are both, Keaton and Ryder that is, are both returning in their proper roles.
She's coming back
good. can't wait. what about Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis?
+futuremovieactor Alec would need to lose a ton of weight.
+futuremovieactor Not confirmed or denied. Would likely depend if both wanted to come back, wouldn't bring just Alec or Geena without the other.
_”I’m tellin’ ya honey, she meant nothing to me, nothing at all!”_ Enter Delores . . .
and he says "WTF"
The moment we realize that Beetlejuice and Lydia were already married since the preacher declared them "man and w..."
He never finished the line, though.
Plus, even if they did get married, Betelgeuse was kind of killed, and death voids marriage.
@@OptimusPhillip Oh yeah the Supernatural entity being murdered by an massive inter-dimensional sandsnake while he was being married by another Supernatural entity voided this normal standard marriage
He spoke for her. It's invalid. Also: SHE'S 13!

1:10 when you get called in for work on your day off lmao
Beetlejuice isn't such a bad person to get hitched to. He seems like a lot of fun and can make girls laugh and scream.
Yeah but the moss and forced kissing kinda gets a no for me dawg, but I get what ya mean
He was a bit too much for any woman, living or dead to handle.
He is like a ghost version of Jack Sparrow
@@smithp2437 and looked under her skirt :/
I love that “C’MON!!!!”
Is it weird that I'm kinda attracted to beetlejuice ???
I never knew this. He seems like the polar opposite of charming, but I guess charm is shaped like a sphere; if you travel far enough away you just end up coming back again.
wtf is my life well he was played by Michael Keaton who was one of the handsome dudes of the 80s that wasn't part of the rat pack
Brat pack*
He's the ghost with the most, babes!
Ummm... if it's weird then count me in! I want to be his Beetlebabes! ;)
0:45 this part always had me dying 😂
And Michael Keaton (who plays Beetlejuice) is also going to be the Vulture in Spider-Man Homecoming!
TMX1138 thanks professor
Wait for REAL!?
Michael Keaton is imprevisible
After all
HE IS BATMAN!
1:10 that scream really made her mouth shut
I absolutely love Michael Keetan and Winnona Ryder and the rest of the actors and actress of this movie.
You got to give that wife credit, she rode that sand worm like a damn champ.
That fucking squeal from Beetlejuice killed me XD
NO CGI, LOVE IT
Isn’t the sandworm animated via stop-motion?
I wonder how Beetlejuice had managed to get away from the sandworm when he appeared in the netherworld waiting room at the end of the movie.
He died again. That's why he's waiting.
@Joshua Moderwell Maybe the afterlife room was down below (Adam and Barbara must have walked down some stairs when they went into the room earlier in the movie) where the sandworm pushed him into the room.
2:22 she has no idea what's happening 🤣
Who's she?
2:00 that is Dolores’ finger that Beetlejuice pulls out
I love the look on Lydia’s face when he pulls out the ring finger.
Love Tim Burton’s work & love this movie
2:00 that's the finger of Delores!
Did you see the sequel I saw it on Friday with my gf
Lol, "Buh....."(jaw falls off) gets me every time
I never liked how Lydia went back on the deal she made, she agreed to marrying Beetlejuice if he saved the Mintsfields and he kept up his part of the bargain but was jipped in the end, maybe that is why he was not sent to the "death for the dead' area but to the waiting room.
she was a teenager. the age of consent varies I know but come on. she was still a child essentially.
@@erk44 I think her character is at least 16.
I thought the Death for the Dead area was for exorcised ghosts only.
it’s the maitlands but ok
@@erk44 Yeah but the point of Betelgeuse getting married was so he could be alive again. He says that "he wants in for good" implying that marriage to someone is the peak of living.
Its a theme because the Maitlands learn to be happy, even in death, because they have each other and now Lydia to care for.
The fact that Betelgeuse got swallowed by the sandworm is symbolic of how he is perhaps not happy in the afterlife because he feels alone. Just because he learns to crack jokes about it doesn't mean he enjoys what he is doing. If he were to marry Lydia again, it would bring him back to life. Not that he would necessarily deal with her after that anyways.
This is just pure classic 😂😂🤣
1:10 Me: Beetlejuice!

They had all that time to say beetle juice, but the just say it so god damn slowly😡😂
Lydia's real dad could've said it at any time. lmao. But yeah, everyone decided to say it super slow in this scene unlike the one before with the snake. It's just plot convenience.
Yeah, that really irritates me! They could’ve said it faster!
1:10 Did Beetlejuice just turn into Jim Carrey?
Or here?:

Dude yes! I saw this movie for the first time today and I thought of the mask during the scene 😂
Gotta love Beetlejuice, he is so funny
alec baldwin was so cute
i will watch this over again and again if i have too.
This really is a masterful climax with how all of the elements of it were built up over the course of the film - the Handbook, the wedding clothes, the statues, the car in the model, the sandworm. All these separate elements, some of which were only in a single scene, come together.
Ill always love how even tho lydia hated delia ( well.sye hated everything she was depressed) it seems like she actually cared about her.
just wanna state not a single CGI shot was used or created and this movie has been on fire for over 30 years
I really love this movie so much
This is one of the best parts of the movie!
