What is bro talking about in regards to the story, it's pretty great. I watched his stream, he wasn't even looking at them, was always scrolling on his phone or talking with the chat, no wonder he's clueless.

I think he most likely would keep that same take for anything thats not gow level narrative.

@@sharpdreamz A notion one could entertain if he even attempted to pay attention. As it stands no, his criticism holds ZERO weight and credibility, there wasn't even an attempt at paying attention. If I go to the cinema for a movie and from the get go just start playing games on my phone, do phones calls and text people the entire film's duration and don't pay attention to the point I openly admit "Yeah I have no clue what's going on I wasn't listening" and then exit the cinema and say "Yup, worst movie of all time" I should not be taken seriously, my opinion has no merit, it's baseless yap. Charlie's story review of Frontiers WAS baseless yap, it was confusion and lack of engagement of his own making. In his review he literally called the story of Frontiers "what you'd expect from a Sonic game" which is unfathomably laughable. You're running around at a massive island graveyard following the footsteps of a dead civilization, freeing trapped souls from their unfulfilled/tormented existences while battling mechs left behind by what are essentially ancient Gods and accidentally unleashing the end of space and time from its prison while your friends remain half-stuck in another dimension living through nightmares of their own. It is QUITE LITERALLY the pollar opposite of every single Sonic story past 2006. The whole point of Sonic Frontiers was breaking the status quo in both design philosophy and narrative structure, and it did.
As for what you said, just lol. Presentation is indeed very stale and lacking in cutscenes but writing and tone were pretty good, you're tripping hard.

@@KOTSOSMC2002 Honestly I have no idea if the people who say blatant things like “its baaaaaad” even played the game or hold it to some ridiculous standard.
Some people who hate the story also despise the contrast of characters and realistic environments. It’s something that makes me think they want another lost world or something which I despised for its direction narratively.
Honestly their opinion holds little to no value if they engage conversations with blanket terms and explain literally nothing as to why they feel that way. Sonic Frontiers is a return to form and it’s hilarious/frustrating they don’t see that.

@@lambousginiguccigod2007 I love when Sonic projects take place in realistic looking settings. In terms of environments SA2, Shadow the Hedgehog and 06 are my favorite games in the franchise and Frontiers is the closest to those we've gotten since 06 (in terms of environments Unleashed too but they took a cartoony approach with characters and stuff so that game belongs in a different basket I believe).
