      Why is the word "performance" crossed out?

    Too much fun. I've been on a big Jazz kick for the past 6 months or so. I've learned 4 of your tunes in the last three weeks - Border line obssessed, I'm going to learn them ALL! You're an exceptional teacher. Wonderful selection of songs - I remember 90% of them from my fathers musical taste and piano playing growing up. Excellently delivered explinations/musical context, patient delivery & coaching, tactful videography - I sincerely appreciate all of the hard work you have put into making these and sharing them with the world. Kind Regards from SC.

      Thanks, Don! Still enjoy my Blue Chip pick a lot ❤️ In case you were wondering... I don't use it on most YT tutorials, bc I usually lose the picks during the shooting 😊 I think I used it on the Fusion Licks or Charlie Parker video, though, bc it's really easy to glide through the strings effortlessly.

    I always try to listen to the song first in order to understand the phrasing and follow the melody. I find vocal versions are best for this and the Stacey Kent version is tops.

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  2 года назад

      That's what I recommend too! Agter the vocal listening, continue with instrumentalists that don't change the head much. Stan Getz is great for that.

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  5 лет назад

      Thanks for your feedback! Yes, I canceled the repetitions of the sections, bc the videos were getting so long and people don't watch long videos. It's all in the complete playthrough anyway. But I understand that it's more comfortable to have it right after the explanation.

    At the 16:27 Phrase 5 i really want to know that (A-7 to D7 )
    Or (A7 to D7) Or (Amaj to D7) i see many transcription it not same. The Original is A major , minor , dominante ? Which one is correct?

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  Год назад +1

      Am7 to D7 makes the most sense, bc it's a II V. There are always so many versions of a song.

    what does guitarversum mean?

    • @GuitarversumSandraSherman
      @GuitarversumSandraSherman  5 лет назад

      It's a compound word of "Guitar" abd "Universum", which is universe in German. In the beginning I wanted to run the channel bilingual, but later changed to English only.
