    The first interpretation I heard was Ginger Baker's instructional video which cant be found found anywhere, then Steve Gadd Late in the evening Paul Simon

    Much later Weckl and all the Cuban greats take your pick.
    Many variations, all using some
    elements of the root rhythm which you show is that bell pattern and tom groove. Good stuff, good learning with this guy.

      A great book for AfroCuban beats is “Afro Cuban rhythms for Drum Set” by Frank Malabe and Bob Weiner… it gives a nice history on each rhythm and offers a listening discography in the back.
