• Mozambique Variations ...
Part one of this drum lesson is in my shorts feed because I was directly answering a question… but I’ll try to link the two together for context… Видеоклипы
The first interpretation I heard was Ginger Baker's instructional video which cant be found found anywhere, then Steve Gadd Late in the evening Paul Simon
Billy Cobham (situation comedy)
Much later Weckl and all the Cuban greats take your pick.
Many variations, all using some
elements of the root rhythm which you show is that bell pattern and tom groove. Good stuff, good learning with this guy.
Happy Halloween, Jay to you and all your subscribers!
Yep ! 😊
What about 11:13:15:17:19 polyrhythm? Love your channel btw.
Jay. I want to start playing more latin rhythms. Can you recommend a good place to start
A great book for AfroCuban beats is “Afro Cuban rhythms for Drum Set” by Frank Malabe and Bob Weiner… it gives a nice history on each rhythm and offers a listening discography in the back.
@Thedrummersalmanac ok! I really appreciate that Jay! I love Steve Gadds "late in the evening" Mozambique! Between watching you and always wanting to learn that Paul Simon beat I figured it was about time I dive in!
@@ericspagnoli1594 I have a video on that one… but it’s probably do for an update: ruclips.net/user/shortsGBAz4KuVfHg?si=mbg7jsuTLbSQFryR
