I was only 3 at the time the huge 6.3 Earthquake happened in my family’s house. And I remember it because it was a traumatic experience.. I remember my dads old car alarms going off. Things shattering, power going out and so much screaming and visually can picture how much things swayed. But it could all be just a dream I had when I was an older kid. Because of that memory, I have anxiety thinking about when this giant fault is finally going to cause the big earthquake, it will no doubt happen but it’s the timing we are all curious about.

We took the road along the ocean and they had areas of land taped off. I’m in my 50’s now. I read an article within the last year that said some homes in the area have moved so much that they are on other people’s property. That is just bizarre to own a house and live in it but have part of it or even all of it not within your property lines. I suppose it’s better than having it slide off a hill, though. Yikes!

To all the people fear mongering in the comments I have watched over the last 28 years or so as Los Angeles has been slowly preparing itself for another large earthquake. People have been getting their foundations redone, buildings have been reinforcing, sewage has been undergoing a makeover. There will be damage and it will be severe when the next large earthquake strikes. However, I feel we are decently enough prepared to weather another large earthquake without too much upset.

@@itsmesasha9825 , You really should be very concerned about ALL of the structures, and ALL of the infrastructures too that are located within the Greater Los Angeles Basin Area of Southern California. And why I say this is based upon ALL the visual evidence as well as documented evidence of the destructions made in the past here in California from earthquakes that had a magnitude of at least a 5 or greater on the Richter Scale. Also, I'm a Native Californian and a Senior Citizen who has been in a few of the larger quakes both in Northern California and in Southern California mostly since late 1976, thus I know what damage plus any fatalities can happen from one of these larger quakes firsthand. In addition, I've got family members and friends who live in quake prone areas in various locations throughout California.
One needs to learn what they should have immediately available to grab then run with in case of ANY TYPE OF A DISASTER, either natural or not like a gas pipe leak or an electrical wiring fire, happens suddenly NO MATTER WHERE THEY LIVE IN THIS WORLD. A bugout bag, aka an emergency stuff bag, is a MUST ITEM to have so one is PREPARED then one DOES NOT need to be SO SCARED. And, finally, increasing one's knowledge about the different natural disasters that have or could affect the area in which one lives is a very good way to become more prepared and less afraid of them.
