That’s a lesson I had to teach myself. When I was in 8th-9th grade, I also never said No to people. I kept being too nice to everyone and too generous. Now I know most of the time to stand up for myself ❤️

I needed this the most. Being a people pleaser is just crazy. Saying no to everything is hard especially when they try to pressure you into saying yes. I remember I tried saying no and when they have that face of being down I just say yes.
What's also crazy is that they would throw a temper tantrum, guilt trip, and/or berate you when you do say no.

My advice when setting boundaries and saying no: expect retaliation.
If you always say yes to people then you’ll turn into a “really reliable” person and that’s a good thing but, it can also cause a lot of people to ask you for a lot of things that in the future you may not want or have time to do. ^ ^

I’d have to say that this one was a very relatable one for me. I know how it is to be taken advantage of. It’s stressful. But I have learned to say no to certain things. Yes, I enjoy helping others, but I also need to focus on myself sometimes.
I know what you mean, I wish someone would have told me this lesson (unlike my narcissistic parents who raised me to be controlled and easy to manipulate) when I was in high school. It really could have saved a lot of hell during my junior year and senior year.

It's alright to say no and set boundaries and I understand her motive that she felt pressured and wanted to make others happy. Also thank gosh she has amazing friends. I know that in grade 10, I learned that it's okay to say no because I felt that I had to help others out and be kind. Saying no will help with your mental health and will save your grades and time. We all know that English is the worst subject lol.

It’s always important to prioritize yourself because we do have other responsibilities to handle other than others. It’s not healthy to work yourself to the bone to attend everyone’s needs all the time. When people are always asking you for stuff, they are pretty much taking advantage of you. Prioritise yourself and those who really matter in your life. Don't be afraid to say 'no' to others. Healthy boundaries go a long way and real friends respect boundaries, not take advantage of others.
Another great video! to say "No" coming from myself i always said "Yes" to others who would only thank me for that one moment and say no to myself including my family who would go above and beyond for me. This video was a great form of inspiration to take a Yes for a yes and No for a no glad to have learned that lesson.

Here the other girl interpreted the absence of a no as a yes, but she never actually said yes. So that's on her. The other girl might have understood it as a yes which isn't Erica's problem.
And she's not obligated to support someone cheating, whatever she said before. It's a wrong cause, and she can very well back out of it if she wants to.
