- (GERMAN text below - Text in Deutsch unten). I searched for a long time and found no tips or instructions on how to replace the earpads on a JBL E45BT headset. So, after ordering spare earpads, I did this short tutorial / demo. Note and disclaimer: This is not an instruction, no liability for property damage / personal injury, other risks! You should be skilled and know what you are doing.
The ear cushions are very firmly glued (double-sided tape) and can not be removed without destruction. If you use a cutter: Take care not to cut, injure or damage the headphones. A thin spatula or similar is certainly usable too. Then clean the remaining, remaining adhesive strips clean ("peel off") and then stick the new ear cushions. Make sure that the ear cushions are marked (left / right) and glued on accordingly. There are also 4 position markers so that you have to attach the pad CORRECT appropriately. Attention! Take care when putting on, because the adhesive is extremely strong and a subsequent correction is NOT possible!
Make sure that the position when sticking is already exactly correct! These earpads can be ordered from your local (national) JBL distributor or parts service. In Germany, for example, the company ESCOOR E.S.C. GmbH Website: escoor.de/ Procedure: Request spare parts by e-mail (type and color, address / delivery address, name!). You will then receive an offer or a pro forma invoice (advance invoice). You transfer this invoice amount and receive the spare earpads after a few days.
The price was 10 EUR (net) for the earpads, 3.53 EUR (net) shipping + set. VAT 19% (prices: as of April 2019 - no liability for correctness of the information). Now my JBL E45BT are like new again - with new earpads :-)

Ich habe sehr lange gesucht und keine Tipps oder Anleitung gefunden wie man die Ohrpolster bei einem JBL E45BT Kopfhörer austauschen kann. Nachdem ich mir Ersatz-Ohrpolster bestellt hatte, machte ich daher diese kurze Anleitung/Demo. Hinweis und Haftungsausschluß: Dies ist keine Handlungsanweisung, keine Haftung bei Sach-/Personenschäden, sonstigen Risiken! Sie sollten geschickt sein und wissen was Sie tun.
Die Ohrpolster sind sehr fest aufgeklebt (Doppelklebeband) und können ohne Zerstörung nicht abgenommen werden. Falls Sie einen Cutter verwenden: Vorsicht, damit Sie sich nicht schneiden, verletzen oder die Kopfhörer damit beschädigen. Eine dünne Spachtel o.ä. ist sicher auch verwendbar. Danach die restlichen, verbliebenen Klebestreifen sauber entfernen ("abpellen") und die neuen Ohrpolster dann aufkleben. Dabei beachten, dass die Ohrpolster markiert sind (links/rechts) und entsprechend aufgeklebt werden. Außerdem gibt es 4 Positionsmarker so das man das Polster entsprechend KORREKT anbringen muss. Vorsicht! Aufpassen beim aufsetzen, da der Kleber extrem stark ist und eine nachträgliche Korrektur NICHT möglich ist!
Passen Sie daher auf, daß die Position beim aufkleben bereits schon genau korrekt ist! Diese Ohrpolster können Sie bei Ihrem regionalen (nationalen) JBL Distributor oder Ersatzteilservice bestellen. In Deutschland bspw. die Firma ESCOOR E.S.C. GmbH Website: escoor.de/ Ablauf: Ersatzteilanfrage per E-Mail (Typ und Farbe, Adresse/Lieferadresse, Name angeben!). Sie erhalten dann ein Angebot bzw. eine Pro forma-Rechnung (Vorabrechnung). Diesen Rechnungsbetrag überweisen Sie und erhalten nach wenigen Tagen die Ersatz-Ohrpolster zugesendet.
Der Preis war bei mir 10 EUR (netto) für die Ohrpolster, 3,53 EUR (netto) Versandkosten + gesetzt. MwSt. 19% (Preise: Stand April 2019 - keine Haftung für Korrektheit der Angaben). Nun sind meine JBL E45BT wieder wie neu - mit neuen Ohrpolstern :-)

It would have been a lot better if u gave us a step by step view on how to do it. Like removing the earpads for the first time.

Thank you! Switched out my pads with the ones from a donor pair (pair I got for parts with the foresight that I may end up needing to)
How do you remove the pads? I’m too scared to remove mine since there’s no proper instructions on how to do it and i might break my headphones. I am also using Jbl e45bt. But the pads wont come off so easily. Please help me since my pads leather are like peeling off now and i need to replace it.
Hello I removed mine, its just sticked by glue, you just need something thin enough that can go between the cushion and the joint!

Apparently you can get these from Aliexpress for less money. I'm gonna order a pair since one of mine just came off. Very expensive headphones, piss poor build quality.
That's great to hear! Because before it was very difficult and at the time I made this clip outside Germany impossible to get them. I had done a lot of research. I also agree with you the headphones are great sounding but quality some poor for that high price. Also for reasons of environmental protection and sustainability, it is a legal requirement for manufacturers to stock sufficient and long-lasting (affordable!) and easily replaceable spare parts. Every product today would actually need some kind of approval in this regard. Only then should it be allowed to be put on the market - everywhere a huge fuss is made about environmental and climate protection. But this issue of "planned obsolescence" and "non-repairability", of massively overpriced spare parts or spare parts that are only available for a very short time, is unfortunately virtually ignored. It is not acceptable that we debate every gram of CO² but continue to produce disposable products or such "branded goods" for 100 euros upwards.
Because I really hate to buy another set because the price of my headphones was like 89 or 99$ but I got them for Christmas in 2019 or 2018 but please come across my two comments because right now I'm down a pair of good headphones
I have a question about the jbl e45bt because I have one and mine did the same yours did but my dad tried to take the left ear pad off now the speaker isn't booming like the right side so do you have any ideas on how I can fix it
Unfortunately, I can't help you there. I have only changed the cusions on mine. They worked perfectly afterwards. Maybe your father damaged something? Or did he accidentally cover the sound holes? I can't say any more than that. Or the bass drivers are defective.

Эти амбушюры можно заказать у местного (национального) дистрибьютора JBL или в службе запчастей. В Германии, например, компания ESCOOR E.S.C. Welcher Kleber ist gemeint
Die Ersatz-Ohrpads haben bereits Kleber drauf, muss nur die Schutzfolie abgezogen werden und die Polster aufgeklebt werden. Zuvor die Klebereste (doppelseitiges Klebeband) auf der Gegenseite Kunststofffkläche am Kopfhörer entfernen falls welche verblieben sind...

I have mine always in a special case from Samsonite what is original a "cosmetic bag" black, high-quality and looks and fits perfect. Also you can put the cable and adaptor inside it has a special place for this.
