Wow! How Johnny boy and Danny got away with this on Auntie Beebs is a sweet little mystery 😂 great to see them having a ball after their silly falling out. Rest your soul John Martyn, you were and still are the best!
At the end of the 1990s I downloaded the Transatlantic sessions because Ricky Skaggs was in them and discovered John Martyn performing Solid Air. I was surprised to learn he wasn't always a fat, sweaty, bearded blob, it seemed such a natural look for him. What I really like about these performances is the almost dream-like state they're performed in, as a team, as if nothing else exists.
For all fans of John Martyn - Danny Thomson (playing bass here) is doing a retrospective on John Martyn at this year's magnificent Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow. Details on the cc SITE.
Martyn & Thomson were a match made in heaven. Saw them several times in the 80’s.
2 geniuses at work. Much much respect to both of them.

This is a masterpiece
The best bit about John Martyn is that you'd never get two perfromances of the same songs alike
Amazing
