Warm Weather Measures for Seed Trays (18 September 2024)

It is very warm during the day at the moment so it is important to not let seed trays fry in the sunshine. If left to dry out the seeds could perish and overwatered trays will quickly be come stale with the air being knocked out of the soil creating an unhospitable environment for young seedlings to thrive.
Move trays to a more sheltered spot in the greenhouse where it's slightly shaded from direct intense light, such as in the shadow of the staging.
You could move small lightweight greenhouses (Zippy's) to a cooler spot temporally or you could create some shading with horticultural fleece, I do this all the time.
