in my 92 sc300 my Nakamichi amplifier is completely non-functional and I removed it as well the 12 CD changer. Will installing a new head unit like the Pioneer you show with the original Nakamichi out still work?
nakamishi head don't have amplifier, originals amplifiers are in the trunk, if you change head unit you can still use originals speackers, but you will have to re wire it
@@charleychacha5800 thanks! What I meant to say was that I removed the Nakamichi trunk mounted amplifier and the trunk mounted 12 CD changer. Now I have to bring a wire from the new head unit to the trunk and splice the wires to all 4 speakers.
Awesome video. I have some questions. 1 I have a 92sc400 nakimichi the radio works but no noise comes out of speakers i think cause the stock amp is fried. So can i wire aftermarket to stock wires and put new speakers and it should work?
Hello! thank you for your comment. You can't do that, because there is no amplifcator into the radio. You need to find stock amp if you don't want to change the radio unit, because aftermaket amp have different connection than the stock amp
@@charleychacha5800 thanks for the reply buddy i really appreciate it 👍. Ok so i dont care about antenna since I will only play Bluetooth. So I just need to connect the basics gorund,power,etc...? I had already connected it before but i ran a cable straight to the battery and i only ran wires to the 2 front speakers 🤣😭..i want a way cleaner way to do it. What cables do I tap into from the a harness?
@@kingjr1uzfe387 you can use antenna too, just wire it on the new radio unit. For the rear speakers, if you have standard speakers, hi-fi wire 1,5mm2 will be fine. For the future I think I will add amplifier with filter in the trunk to go with boomer
@@charleychacha5800 thanks. I was looking for exhaust headers for mine. However, cant find any. Thinking about having a set made custom. Cause I'll always be a part of the SC family forever 💯💪
I installed a new pioneer dmh-1500nex in my sc400, but after installing it the audio quality is very poor. With the original nakamichi stereo it sounded pretty good, but now there is a lot of clipping and no bass at all, I'm not sure why. I used the metra wiring harness but I'm not sure if i am missing anything.
I don t use the metra wiring harness, it didn't work. If you want loud bass with aftermarket stereo, you have to install aftermarket amplificator and wire original woofer on
@@charleychacha5800 Oh alright, is it because there is some sort of proprietary wiring with the built in amplifier that does not enable the subwoofer, or something of the sort?
@@hutsieclan-rocketleague962 yes that's right. Original head radio don t have amplificator, so it send music signal to the amplifocators in the trunk, amplificators return music signal to the speakers. When you change the radio unit, the head radio have an amplificator and send music directly to the speakers. @@charleychacha5800 It's all good I got it figured out, had to buy some wire harnesses to help plug some of the wires. the whole audio system is a mess to the point I had to almost scrap the whole wiring and make my own audio system. If anyone is reading this that is new to audio systems the sc400 is a bit more challenging to install lol do plenty of research before starting

I’m confused, which color wires are the speaker wires you connect to the radio
You can see colors in the video, do you have problem to find them?
Oh yes I see what you mean! For speakers colors wires, you have to refer to the radio instruction manual you want to instal ;)

@@linklichen4225 I’m struggling with my speaker install! I replaced all 4 speakers (front and back) + the sub but the wiring is super foreign to me.
So you didn’t use the adapter plug, you required it from scratch?
yes, no adapter in this video
adapter plug don't work, you need to re wire
You had a11 highlighted like it did something, but never showed anything about it.
too complicated, pay someone to do it
