I just got a 1992 sc400 and the interior looks the same but gray. I was told the previous owner paid 2k to get it all redone. Smells brand new. I love it.
Dave, it's been 10 months since you posted this question so I suspect you already know the answer by now. In case you don't, the reason for the "ignition on" sequence is because the gearshift lever can not be moved out of "park" unless the ignition is switched out of the "off" position. Once the gearshift has been moved, I believe you can then switch the ignition back to the "off" position. Hope this is helpful! ;-)
I know I months late as well. I know why he did it,but Im also not sure why he did, these vehicles have a shift override. its right to the left of the shifter, you need a flat head screw, you push it downward, while holding it down, you can shift the handle to where ever you want it. I take it the guy in the video didnt know anything about it.
Sometimes I come back and watch this video just to appreciate how clean that interior is.
