    These masks have holes between all the beads! I do not recommend them for prevention of spreading germs! From what I understand, it IS recommended to use a cloth face covering when going to a public place. Make sure you wash your cloth face covering every day and wash your hands before and after touching the mask to put on or remove it!

      @@SS-kr7pt for mask body I like to use stretch magic, 0.7mm or thicker. And for straps of mask and bracelets I like to use an white elastic cord, 0.7mm or thicker. Other colors are fine too but elastic cord is not clear is the big difference :)

    @jerp8110 4 года назад +54

    Guys!!! If you started with a base of 21 or 25 and the string is on the other side side (for the step at around 8:00) you didn't do it wrong! Its just the way the beading works I think its because of how many rows there are and where it ends, but what you have to do is weave the string at the top *across* the mask to where it needs to be on the other side, I personally went down a few beads and weaved it across the middle, then did what the tutorial said with getting the string to the second to last bead on the edge and pulling it through the last one. Then just work the second string back until you need the one you just weaved across and it works perfectly (I hope I explained this well)

    • @HazelMuffins
      @HazelMuffins  6 лет назад +26

      Hmm maybe try making your straps out of something thinner around than a pony bead. Like using perler beads instead, or just using the elastic string by itself. You could also try making straps that go around your head instead! Might help if you used like a ribbon that ties in the back or something. Just some ideas. :D

    How do I follow a pattern ? Making masks it looks like it starts from the inside working out. Do I use this technique just using the color "codes"

    • @VictoriaWhitsonVA
      @VictoriaWhitsonVA 5 лет назад +10

      I've always just eyeballed the patterns. I start by making the top part of the mask, then the middle and then the bottom. Maybe in a few weeks I can research how to help people use patterns :)

    • @kaylarichardson1863
      @kaylarichardson1863 4 года назад +5

      You start in the middle. Essentially cutting your mask in half. Start with the very middle row, then decide if youre going to do the top of the mask or the bottom first. So 2 beads, 1 bead, 2 beads, 1 bead, following the pattern. Once you finish the middle, you tie it off and go for the top or bottom.

    • @HazelMuffins
      @HazelMuffins  6 лет назад +9

      TheLegendOfKyler Maybe try just making a striped one for your first time and using a pattern next time. There is an option on kandipatterns.com to open a pattern in the pattern maker at the bottom of it I think if you want to alter someone else's. Or you can create your own pattern and just copy theirs and make it more suited to you. :3

    If you want to wear these I suggest getting cloth liners to line the inside of you mask. I have them for my normal masks so I don’t have to wash them daily.

    When I got to the part where you have 7 beads on the outer edge, both my strings were on the same side. Should I just add one more row so that the strings end up opposite again or does it have to be odd numbered?

    • @HazelMuffins
      @HazelMuffins  4 года назад +1

      It doesn't matter! Once you have the column of 7 beads on the edge it should be tall enough that you can start making the bottom part of the mask. You can make it taller if you want but that's up to you! You only need to use one string to make the bottom part so you can just leave the other one where it is and connect them later to tie it. Sorry it's kind of hard to explain!

    How do you tighten them?

    • @HazelMuffins
      @HazelMuffins  4 года назад +1

      Gently pull the string or strings you are currently working with. Not too hard or the string will break.
