- The Sengoku Jidai was an era of intense political turmoil in Japan, thrusting the country into a constant state of civil war as the feudal Daimyo clashed for power and land. The greatest prize of all was the shogunate, the leader of all samurai clans and effective military dictator of the nation. While Oda Nobunaga - the great "Unifier of Japan" - begins his great push to overthrow the Ashikaga clan, his trusted friend and general, Tokugawa Ieyasu, waits patiently for an opportunity to sieze the shogunate himself and establish a new period of peace for all of Japan!

Tokyo is outside the east edge of your territory, by Yokohama. Ingame, owned by Hojo. I believe the capital during the Shogunate was Osaka, though.
He tried to find it last episode, it was literally off of the map
Toukyou at that time would still be called Edo and be a swampy backwater town.
The Shougunate or Bakufu had several different capitals so it depends on which one we are talking about. Osaka was never one of them though.
Kamakura Shogunate (1192 - 1333): Kamakura
Muromachi or Ashikaga Shogunate (1338 - 1573): Kyouto (Muromachi is a district there)
Tokugawa Bakufu (1603 - 1868): Edo, renamed Toukyou after it became the new official capital
One could also argue that Hiraizumi was a Bakufu capital but it's a bit too early I guess.

BTW the history of the Japanese capital itself is also pretty interesting.
I find it funny that Tokyo essentially means "eastern capital."
And it's name is just Kyoto, but with the "kyo" moved to the right, or you could say, east.
You really should hire all cort positions but give a pretty good boost for little pay and it makes people like you more especially for tutor it will help children get better education stats

Don't you just love it when Pravus goes all mad conqueror on his enemys?
Pravus some unsolicited advice, you may want to buy another man at arms unit of siege equipment for when you split your armies and having commanders makes a massive difference to your army combat because the commanders martial skill is added to the advantage score. That is why the computer calculated your odds of winning differently once you added a commander.

Just a quick note Pravus, your direct opponent is colored red. Those of colored orange/brown, are not exactly your enemy. Not friends also. They just happen to be vassal of Oda and have their own war and needed to raise their personal levies

Orange troops = your enemy's enemy (which you can also attack but should not, most of the time); like Oda at 26:32

So the "Form a New Kingdom/Empire" decision seems to create an entirely new kingdom/empire out of the territory the player holds.
Meaning only that territory is the de jure part of that realm. It's not you claiming an existing de jure kingdom/empire.
That's how it worked in CK2. I thought that's how it worked in CK3.
Kind of a bummer when you do take a de jure empire, die, and then suddenly there's two empires on the map for two of your heirs.

Pravus.... i have a question.... does ck3 crash on you? Like from time to time or what?? Ive been trying to play but when i load into my save as soon as the map appears it crashes and it restarts my pc..... i dont know what to do i need help!
Is it an old save, as in from a previous version of the game? Sometimes that will clash with updates so much that the save is just dead unless you roll back to the correct version.
Mods play a role too, you may have too many mods, and if you’re playing vanilla with a new save, your computer may simply not be strong enough
