- Hello everyone,
Last weekend Lawrie was invited up to the Foxfield Railway's War Wheels event, which is one of the biggest events that they do, and most concerningly was told he was going to be let loose with one of the big guns.... What could go wrong?

Thank you for not breaking anything
Interesting video. Wow, I managed to win the online competition.
Can you drop me an email please so I can post this off to you?
Well done
In long ago history....the headmaster (Mr Pardoe) at my primary school, Parklands, Little Sutton, (1964) had one and drove it to and from the school every day!!!
Another top video Lawrie. The 25 pounder was fascinating, my grandfather used to be in the gun crew on these out in Burma during the war. Sadly he passed away before I was born but he left behind a fascinating collection of photos he took while out there, a lot of them he sent home to my gran with handwritten notes on the back of them, they make fascinating reading.
A 2 pounder is 40mm, nitty-nit-pick 😁
Well ...I really ACTUALLY love comments like this!
A very nice compilation, thanks again for the chat!
Greetings from the Netherlands. 👍🏻
Great day out Lawrie & crew ❤ have a closer look at the muzzle brake next time , there are four grooves machined in for sighting wire or string to ballistically match the gun barrel to the sight , many WW2 guns had this feature including tanks 😎 😊
Oh really?
It's interesting to hear the comparison between cordite and black powder. I fire black powder muskets quite regularly at re-enactments and they do make quite a bang.
Another Top Video Lawrie and it was absolutely lovely meeting you in person. Your discussion about taking apart models and putting them back together was very insightful.
Give me a model loco, I wouldn’t have a clue. But it’s all trial and error I suppose!
Hope to see you again soon!
Brilliant video. And you should try some more history re enactments, and why not try some that I do ! The Vikings, and my group do the Battle of hastings (1066) at battle Abbey, and also have done and got to camp at so many historic places around the uk , it's a amazing hobby and am thinking of doing ww1 now, but really enjoyed that gun firing, I' got to fire a German ww2 m42 machine gun with blanks at a event we were at once ,and that was a brilliant experience.
Wonderful video lawrie!
Great video! It was good fun taking you out for a run in the Jeep!
Thanks for taking me! Absolutely loved it!
Let me know if there are any adventures happening
10:15 sir winston churchill returned for his speech
Shame.
Great video Lawrie.
Just trying to imagine the health and safety forms they had to sign to allow Lawrie to fire a gun, surely they had to go through many hoops and the government to allow it.
Loving the Military content, Lawrie!
This is a bad idea. And I'm looking forward to it from the safety of an ocean between us😂
I'm sorry but the photo fiasco was golden, maybe the next event will be the one?
The snow track has a recoiless rifle with a .50cal spoting gun that is balisticly matched to the recoiless rifle.
lawrie get yourself up to biggin Hill Airport and the heritage hanger it's something you will enjoy
Just like to mention the 2pdr is 40mm bore not 20mm
Legend ❤
I remember Dubsy working (working, working). Ouch I'm old.
Sounds like a superheaterpipe blowing up but nicer.
So, your career as a gunner went out with a bang, and then your career as a photographer went out with a whimper? 😆
Enjoyed the video, looking dorward to the next one!
As a fan of yours from the great wilds of Alberta (Edmonton), i have to ask, have you never heard of a Skidoo, aka snow mobile? Look it up. Anyway, great vid.
*tries to sneak past the comments....sneak sneak sneak sneaky sneak*
😂
@@bwilesuk 😇 doot de doo, nothing to see here. This is not the railway historian you're looking for.
17:23 pewwwww 🔫
Over 50 in a ferret you could get a armoured snatch land rover
Hey Lawrie, is there any way we can get our hands on the figures of you and Charles? Cheers
Yes, drop me a message on discord and or an email, we have some left over!
@@lmm messaged off the website mate, hopefully gets through to you
Ka-boom!
You talking about what you want to do with the willy jeep remember that if it a original jeep that thing is beaten death through it time's in service.
There were ALOT of jeeps produced by think all the major american car builders.
not to mention they stayed in production for ages after.
Lubnut?
Bad idea
Wasn't it just 😂
Bro 0:25 leave this bit until the end bec no one has seen what ur filming and won't know until later if there like the vid or not 😂😂
Quite a few people are watching the channel
Instead of a ferret get a fox they are much beefier
Ferrets are easier to get ones hands on.
