  • We're back at Royal Enfield Technology Centre to see how our Bike Shed Interceptor 650 collaboration custom build is coming along.
Dutch was genuinely excited to see how the digital ideas drawn up a couple of months ago have translated into steel, rubber and leather, joining lead designer, Adrian Sellers, once again to have a tour of the work in progress and see the bike in the flesh.
Built to ride in it's East London setting at the Bike Shed, this urban Brat will be used as Dutch's daily ride, but it also needs to be good enough to go on show. What do you think? ...Discuss in the comments below.

'Brilliant' is a great word for it. I've got those classic style Hagons on the back of my Continental GT 650 and love them and the look they give the bike overall.
That custom exhaust system though... wow... always more things to want...

Adrian seems to be a humble worker while Dutch is the showman, constantly pushing himself in front of everything, including the camera. Should be called Royal Enfield x BSMC collaboration as RE is doing the actual work, from designing, manufacturing, and assembly.

I love it. The big fat tires look awesome. But the pop out mini-bar is killer - though I'd fill it with brandy since the engine will likely warm it up during the ride...I like my whiskey on ice or room temp.

Very nice indeed. I fitted a large front wheel on my Meriden Triumph more than twenty years ago. (Still have it now) Love the bike , this is the push I needed to test ride the 650. The headlight body looks great, it might start a whole new fashion. Look forward to the next episode.

Biggest gripe I have with the RE twins are the wheel and tire package. They really should have chosen 17inch rims with the option of spoked or alloy's. 18's in todays time are just too odd. Ditch the 18's RE! Silly choice. Unfortunately this is one of the most expensive mods if you decided to DIY. The reason I haven't and wouldn't unless they switch on and bring 17's cast alloy to future models. Just like Triumph did with their 865 Bonneville's with the SE. A much better handling/performing bike than their spoked 19inch front versions.

Do larger diameter front pipes alter the "engine brake", I'm a huge fan of engine braking. Another channel mentioned something about different exhaust components may change the engine braking characteristic but never elaborated on the subject.....just curious

  • @roverroko306

Great bike, just how it should look, and how I plan to build mine one day. The only thing I would shape different is the front headlight fairing. Mine would be a bit taller like a narrow bullet fairing. But like in this case the headlight would first be placed deeper in between the front fork. What I really want to ask is did you need to make any adjustment to the front and rear fork in order to fit the balloon rims and tires? I wonder is it expensive to order the rims like that from Hagoon or Baak for that reason? Can the balloon tire of adequate size to achieve that affect be mounted on original 16 ' rims?

Headlight looks too-much like an old yamaha tt250 trail-bike . It would really suit something like the RE350 classic, shrouded-style or early BSA A10-type shroud . I'd also black-out the first-two head-fins above the barrels to give the effect of taller-barrel. Dave NZ
