Everyone here does, he lives here, and he often is highlighted when announced, as someone who's played with many amazing acts!

@@ginamina28 good, but he's still the most underrated drummer in the world to me. he doesn't appear in any lists, and nobody in the drum world ever mentions him. it's a shame marco minnemann gets more coverage and acclaim while being a disaster who succeed to ruin the whole satriani live experience by himself, overplaying on everything, never listening to his bandmates and only wanting to put in high speed rolls on absolutely everything, with no respect of the mood of the song (see the differences of approach on their live versions of "flying in a blue dream" : jeff gets the mood perfectly, minnemann just disastrously solos like a metal drummer while it's an aerial song). maybe it's part why jeff has not the same recognition, it's because it's not that obvious he's a technically great drummer cause he doesn't show off and stay in his place, giving the music exactly what it needs, even if it means not shining on the stage. the sign of a great drummer.

@@@monkeybusiness6417 Thank you so much for your insight, and your kind words for my acquaintance. Knowing musicians, as I do (as Jim, the singer, in the video, is my partner), there are many other reasons that bands separate and change. They may sound fantastic to us fans, but they may not always get on as people, friends, bandmates, etc, or even care for the music they play. Many leave bands to pursue personal projects, or even for medical reasons (Huey Lewis is a great example). I've traveled with many bands, and witnessed great music and watched performers who we love together, not be able to continue on for whatever personal reasons they have. Heck, we all know this story. Jeff has a wonderful family, who I admire (and his daughter is an amazing singer). His separation from the Satriani band is not a subject I ever ask about, nor even look up on the internet, but I know he's a valued member of his community and a well respected drummer with many bands here in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I'm so happy to get to record him and share songs and performances, like this one, with all who seek to watch them.
