To understand the context of Jiang's behavior and reaction in this clip, the Hong Kong Press, is a pro-democracy press that believes in transparency and openly criticizes political leaders without hesitation, something Jiang and the Communist Leaders are certainly not used to, and thus he was very caught off guard by the reporter's questions.
But his attitude comes off as patriarchal, and very stereotypically confucian, in that elder men are right, everyone else is wrong.
The people of Hong Kong do not, have not, and will never share the same ideological beliefs as the Communist Party of China. They are a unique people to their unique culture and special view of the world that will never conform to that of the Communist Party.

not really diverse opinions lol if you listened to his response the journalist was asking low-quality leading questions and trying to get him to say he was "imperially appointing" (using language from Imperial China) the (elected) Chief Executive of HK... sure an autocrat but admittedly he probably had good reason to be distraught and I'd say he probs handled it better than Trump or the like would've (straight up calling people bad journalists, etc.)
