Great demonstration. Just in case you know, can the bottom 2 SSD ports take 2 GB SSDs each or are they lmited to 1 TB? Also, any thought on P17 vs P15 in performance and cooling (size and weigh aside obviously). 👍
So each NVME slot can take a MAX of 2TB drives each - so a total of 6TB NVME of all three drives were populated. I have a video coming out soon comparing the 15g2 to the 17g2 - spoiler - they’re the same. Even down to thermals. Only difference is the larger screen.
I didn't open my newer P17 yet, in fact I didn't crack open a Thinkpad since I sold my T460 and had to remove the drive. To me it's a sign of quality...
Thanks for the content, i gave you a sub! Have you ever disassembled further? I want to upgrade my P15 G2 GPU from A2000 to A3000 and know it’s possible but can only find the “Dell” motherboard component not Lenovos… just wondering if they are the same and if you have any other additional input, my fellow ThinkPad lover
Thank you very much!!! Really helpful!!!
Good to see your quick and clear demonstration on accessing the upgradable components in P15/17.
Will be much safer to disable battery power before you touch specially a SSD.
Nice video could you please tell me what brand of tool box did you use?

Can I install a 4tb or 8tb drive in this machine?
4TB, Yes! 8TB, no.
Do you cover removing the keyboard bezel and going all the way to the fan assembly?

Who do you think is quieter in the cooling system and who is cooler? Thinkpad P15 G2 or P17 G2?
So using normally, they’re identical. Once they’re under heavy load, the P15 will ramp up faster, however the P17 is louder overall
@@ManeTech And if you listen to the noise to the electronic rumble of the fan, then which one is quieter P15 GEN2 or P17 GEN2?
Do you know which ram slot under keyboard is nr3 and nr4? Or order doesn't matter here?
I have a P15 Gen 2 with 512GB diskspace. I need to add more SSD's. Could you please recommend which make and model would fit my Laptop?
I want to put 4TB SSDs in mine for video editing. I am debating on several drives including the Sabrent Rocket, Samsung, and others.
