"No!" says the man in the tractor, you must listen to COUNTRY!" "No!" says the man at the synthesizer, you must listen to DUBSTEP!" "No!" says th man in the hood, you must listen to RAP!
J'ai la malheureuse impression qu'on ne saura véritablement jamais qui a enregistré ces titres additionnels attribués à Django Reinhardt ("It Had to Be You", "Jitterbug Waltz", "Liza" et "Please Be Kind").
@justificator Fair enough, I just downloaded the track and it was titled Django Reinhardt so I though it was, no idea who the original artist is if it isn't him :P
You want to hear Django playing Liza, listen to the track posted by coleorum. This isn't Django, and might not even be Grappelli. I have a record that is supposed to be Reinhardt and Grappelli, but it is in fact Grappelli and some guys in London, during WWII when Django buzzed of back to Paris. Why isn't this Django? The guitar accompaniment is way to basic and trudgie!
He's right; I don't think it is. This is awesome and clearly INSPIRED by Django and Stephane Grappelli, but I don't think it's them. Every other recording of this song isn't this one. Plus, this tempo is way too slow for Django's taste...
Django was from the 30's and 40's, wtf you talking about. Maybe we're all just to used to the remastered tracks of Django that an unpolished one sounds different.
to clear this up, this was a remaster/remix by people hired by the game studio to make the song fit the atmosphere. This song was most definitely originally from Reinhardt, but edited.
Will I've heard plenty of different levels of sound quality on Django's recordings, the main issue is that the playing sounds more like it was by a halfway good Gypsy Jazz player- but not Django. It isn't found in any record of Django's recordings.
I was searching for this version of the song for months!! Thanks!!
Exactly the version that can be hear in Farmer's Market
I think I've heard it more places too!! Also what's it like being 11 years in the past over there?
@@nukacolacompany2534 it plays on any jukebox, but only the beginning

Bioshock made me learn this song and this artist, from that day ... I always listen it!
Django♥
Man, I remember when I got a defective copy of BioShock 2 and waited two hours for it to install before giving up. Good times.
December 27th, 2020, I'm still listening this piece of art....
There are no words to describe the Greatness that is Django Reinhardt!
It's not Django!
Oh my gosh, this song is awesome
"No!" says the man in the tractor, you must listen to COUNTRY!"
"No!" says the man at the synthesizer, you must listen to DUBSTEP!"
"No!" says th man in the hood, you must listen to RAP!
no says the man who wants to sleep. you must listen to silence.
I rejected those answers.
Instead I chose something different.
I chose the impossible.
I chose...

This is not Django Reinhardt or Stephane Grappelli.

Rapture!

Was it just me or does this tune sound somewhat like the ones played on Spongebob?
He's right; I don't think it is. This is awesome and clearly INSPIRED by Django and Stephane Grappelli, but I don't think it's them. Every other recording of this song isn't this one. Plus, this tempo is way too slow for Django's taste...
That's not Django, The tone and phrasing does not sound at all like him
I agree, not Django at all. The way it's recorded sound like an old 40's vinyle !
Django was from the 30's and 40's, wtf you talking about. Maybe we're all just to used to the remastered tracks of Django that an unpolished one sounds different.
