Harmony Gold, I think, is a horrible company. They've given up on coming up with anything original. Harmony Gold has ruined a live-action Robotech movie with every single major movie studio. In regard to this KitzConcept release, it's a hard pass. KitzConcept is going to milk the fans for multiple variants of this mold, and at the same price point. They days of retail priced Robotech toys are long gone.
Quality is pretty good. I have the 1st edition Roy Fokker KitzConcept Valkyrie and I like it quite a bit. Earthrise Optimus comes to this mold’s shoulder, and this towers over Earthrise Starscream, this mold really fits in as a large voyager class, (taller than most WFC leaders even) so this works well with my modern collection. Would love to see KitzConcept forego the diecast and do an all plastic version of this mold without electronics to make it more rugged. The downside is the masterpiece vibes, meaning the diecast and articulation during mid-transformation, can make it feel a bit fiddly. But I’ve posed it in robot and gerwalk modes several times. I hear they’ve improved the mold since the first edition, (1st edition had a slight tab issue where the arms tab into the fuselage in jet mode, but was still stable) so this would likely be the best version of the mold to get if you ever liked the G1 Jetfire and collect in the CHUG or War For Cybertron type lines.
I don't see why any Transformers fan would have a problem with this. It's another chance to get a design that we'd be otherwise extremely unlikely to get, and it'll provide further defence for Hasbro/Takara for any future Jetfire toys. I won't buy it because of its price, but it seems to be a win for everybody involved.
It's too bad Hasbro and Takara couldn't work out a deal with Bandai to do this with the DX Chogokin VF-1S with the Super Parts. I've seen beautiful customs of the original Yamato 1/48 VF-1S done up as G1 Jetfire on Macross World.

I took your advice and was finally able to watch "Do you remember love" after 30+ years. Thank you RUclips. Visually, the film still holds up and is amazing. Story wise, I find it rather naive...but I guess for the 80s, it's still rather consistent with most storylines from the decade. Still a great film.
I pre ordered one from BBTS as it's not easy or cheap to get an actual complete G1 Jetfire in great condition. I do have a G1 Jetfire I got maybe 10 years ago in decent condition mostly complete for 45 bucks and I'm pretty happy with it but I am looking forward to this figure quite a bit. Coincidentally I'm skipping MP Skyfire because for me the commander class from Siege scratches my G1 toon need for Skyfire just fine.
210 bucks? Hahaha, it looks nice, but I got my paid-in-full MP57 preorder for 240. Not the same aesthetic, but this puts the Kitzconcept into the perspective it needs to be put.

one of the things that drives me crazy is they made WFC Jetfire freaking huge like G1 Jetfire when he isn't G1 Jetfire. WFC Jetfire was barely taller than the seekers and Megs in the show. I wish he had been a leader class to put him in the right scale with the continuity he's in. Maybe this guy would check that box.
That's more on the animators being lazy and incompetent. The toyline came first and was supposed to be G1. The show was nothing more than a last-minute marketing strategy.
I just got the VF-1S Dark gold version with fast pack limited. Similar to the god of flame. It’s kitzconceopt as well. It’s pretty damn awesome. If you buy. Please handle with patient hands. A lot of detail, also does not change as easy as a Hasbro or Tamara transformer. It’s a real 16 plus figure. Not for all transformer fans. Displays nice with led. I’m well above my 30’s and I love it.
At least to me, this is not a real Macross Valkerie. Why? There are no Macross missiles included with the Macross missile trail effect. And it seems that you can't eject parts of the armor, like you see in "Do You Remember Love?". Lastly, you can't detach the cockpit like you could in the Macross/Robotech animated series. I think Hasbro should jab back at Harmony Gold by doing a Skyfire release that has missiles with the Macross missile trailing effect. There's no way that Harmony Gold can sue over the Macross missile trailing, because this effect has been used in lots of anime such as Justice League Unlimited.
I would love to get one, but with only 1,000 being made it'd be gone before I could even place an order. And I am not willing to pay over inflated secondary market costs. Especially if it ends up coming close to Haslab Unicron OG sale cost. No voyager scale figure is worth that much unless it's mostly made of silver/gold. So sadly I'm going to have to say pass on it.
You know what would be gag worthy if Ace Combat's Shinden II gets a VF treatment down the line.... and be inserted as another "Original VF" for the next macross game, since the VF-30 Cronos is basically the CFA-44 Nosferatu as a VF

For those wondering ,this is NOT mp scale...its nowhere near it...the original takatoku toy (including the jetfire recolour) were 1/55 scale and this is 1/72 scale meaning its even smaller than the takatoku toy....in robot mode its only going to be about 7 inchs tall.
Which is why, even though I was super excited to see this, I'm not willing to pay nearly $300 for it. Especially when I already have the model kit version that is the exact same size. I payed around $35 - $40 for it, and painted it up as Jetfire myself. It's more detailed than this, just minus the lights and the ability to transform. Though for the price you can buy all three models in bot, jet, and gerwalk mode for less than half the price of this. This does give me hope that someday we still might see a large "MP" scale version of this... 🤞

i love robotech as i fell in love with it before i understood the three separate anime series they were created from. i will say i think harmony gold could have made a lot more money over thwse thirty years to play nice with big west hasbro and bandia.....and all of the fans would have benefited from karl maceck not being a greedy dousche bag

As much as i like it a MUCH cheaper and easier solution is to buy a 1/72 Bandai or Hasegawa VF-1 model kit and paint it in jetfire deco and get a sheet of generic autobot symbol stickers ftom repro labels.....
I think I've seen a VF01S long time ago from this KitzConcept company in local toy stores in HK. The price tag is quite steep but the quality I didn't like it. The lines on the plane are harshly done and the plastic looks fragile. I haven't handled it personally though but I remember it was in their display at least over 5 yrs already

No. The antenna and visor are the distinctive characteristics in the valkyries/VF1 jets/bots. VF-1S two antenna on each side of the head with rectangular visor is what Roy flew and Rick eventually took over as Skull leader. That's the same head used for jetfire, only recolored Other valks were: VF-1J: square eye one antenna on top of head VF-1A: triangle eye with antenna on each side of head VF-1D: trainer with two stacked horizontal rectangles as 'eyes/visor' and single antenna on each side of head
Takara have reissued the original G1 Megatron toy multiple times and even did a 2nd MP G1 Megatron take still turns into a realistic firearm. Those mofos are ballsy indeed. 😂

What about the 2001 & 2004 Storm Jet. He had Jet Fire colors. Is it just ones that had the Robotech look?
