- Yes I know his theme is already epic as all hell, but I love the Radahn music & really wanted to create a version with a massive cinematic feel, almost as if it's his theme that plays as he fights Malenia in his prime....with the ending as a melancholy descent into his sad, lonely state you find him in.

I think this would definitely fit Radahn when he was sane. It sounds a bit more lordly than the reading we fight. The Radahn we fight is insane.
A lot of people have said this, makes sense since it's a little less atonal and more defined
I think it’s fitting, even in his mindless state he’s able to imprison stars and hurl down the atmosphere like a comet. During the Radahn festival I always felt commemorative tones, like they’re honoring him, despite wanting to kill him.

Man, I gotta say I really love how you cranked up the rolling energy of the rhythms in the 1st half. Especially in the build up to 1:36, that shit was SO satisfying. The original score had that feeling too of course, but something about your arrangement really feels like your being propelled forward with the beat. With all the different patterns stacked and staggered like that, you cant help but keep going forward, like its pulling you. I'm bobbing my head to this like its a rap beat lol great job!
Very well made cover, loved the choir parts especially they sounded awesome with the more intense theme.
Oceania choir is amazing, I picked it up to write the Rockwell boss theme and now I'm using it on everything!

I need to subscribe, you’re amazing. I absolutely love the original song, but I perceived some sort of ‘sound wall’ because of the many instruments that were used. And actually the way they mixed the instruments is what gives the song that feeling of openness and makes it epic, but I really wanted to find a version of this song where one could listen in a clearer way the different instruments and patterns. The way you mixed everything was great and I loved he sound of the drums. Good job!

Only 8k subs - wtf. Very well executed - made it more lordly but didn't completely overpower the sadness. Intro and outro were marvelous.
I just wish the chorus played one more time. It just feels a lot better that way imo.

The theme went from grand and majestic, to a theme of putting down your best friend. I love the original version, but this one too. Im actually more saddened after hearing this theme....

this was nice cuz i only noticed it was different about 30% through cuz i was distracted and not looking at the video, good remix, dosent ruin the source material like so many remixes for music out there

It's really good, but i feel there's many generic elements which we are really used to hear in "epic" soundtracks, and that takes a bit of the uniqueness.
That's kind of the point of this channel, arranging music into a different style.
I feel like that was kind of the point of this person's rendition: to give it that sort of blockbuster movie Hollywood soundtrack feel, which of course is used in lots of movies nowadays. I agree that the "epic" sound isn't very unique, but that's not a bad thing in this situation, since that sound is what the creator was trying to achieve when doing this rendition, and they succeeded in that.

Malenia obviously, I’d heard so much about her being a difficult boss so the build up was terrifying
But I knew nothing, NOTHING, about Radahn

I'm sure this has already been said a dozen times but I think this fits more of a Prime Radahn. Mainly because his theme, as we hear it in game, is a bit of a dirge in tone. Meaning it's a song meant to honor and mourn his coming warrior's death. It's a Funeral March, essentially. Meanwhile this version feels more like a song meant to honor a still very much alive and well individual.
That was kind of the point when writing it, i really wanted to capture the military marching feel and double down on the bombastic nature of the track hidden behind all the atonal mess that almost seems to represent his fall to rot

The fight of Radahn has always been the one I loved the most, simply because of his lore. I wrote once a small text about what I think is going on, based on the phases.
Small intro here
The festival began. As it did every year, at this exact same day, at this exact same time.
Many have tried. Many have failed. Throughout this time, Jerren has seen Champions of old and new. Foreigners and inhabitants of the Lands Between.
All have failed to give Radahn the peace he wanted, he needed, for the insanity of the Scarlet Rot had slowly rendered him to a beast. A shadow of his former self. To see his friend in this state was heartbreaking.
Driven insane by the scarlet rot, Caelid, Limgrave, all of Liuarnia would have fallen to the depraved shell that was once Radahn. It was his noble steed, Leonard, who performed the ultimate sacrifice. Despite realizing it will suffer a lifetime, it dragged the remains of his beloved General over the cliff.
Now, it walks in circles, on the red sands, preventing his master from shaming himself further by this beastial transformation.
The Redmane Soldiers, having seen this fight up close, having seen the effect of the Scarlet Aeonia upon the land, made it their life's mission to prevent the red death from spreading around the lands. Sealing it in a ring of fire, the wall warding off the approach of the scarlet rot. And despite knowing they will never return home, never bask in the light of the Erdtree, or see the magnificent rays of the moon, they stayed.
Honoring Radahn's memory. Hosting a festival to celebrate his passing, and holding onto the hope that one day, one day their beloved General will be released.
That was a life time ago.
With no death to end their misery, the soldiers began to hollow. Losing themselves. The only thing that kept them at their post was the vow they took to follow Radahn. To fight for the Lion of the Battlefield. To fulfill his last order, as he was being afflicted by the Scarlet Rot, inflicted by the Blade of Miquella.
Another festival, another score of champions arrived to challenge Radahn.
With each festival beginning, Jerren hopes that one of them can finally lay his friend to rest.
For he is the last to hope.
You come along. Whether you joined by the arrival of the festival or were a vassal of Lunar Princess Ranni. It mattered little.
All he knew was that you are 'just' another champion to test your mettle against the mightiest of the demigod.
As the sun arose to red, a howling echoed through the land. For the remains of Radahn realized, that soon, new prey will enter his territory. Only in this time will Leonard be able to rest, for he only follows his master's lead.
Phase 1
Your feet touch the red sand, soaked by blood of heroes of old and new, tarnished, champions, it mattered little. You came to the lands between to repair the Elden Ring. Radahn was just another piece.
Whether you fight with your fellow Vassal, your rival jar, the demon from a faraway land, the lionhearted knight, or the giant slaying warrior, or even alone, you face Radahn.
Even with his mind gone, his wits bereft, his body knew how to wield his blades. His magic. He gives you nothing less than his best.
You do the same.
Jerren watches your fight with small hope. Feeling you might get his appetite worked up.
"Just another tarnished. What do you have that the others lacked?"
However, as the fight went on, you didn't give up.
Radahn felt his self slowly returning.
You were pushing him to his limits.
Descending as a flaming meteor to kill you, the General unleashes a roar, a roar that reverberates throughout Caelid.
All of the Redmane took notice. Their hollowed minds recognised the battle cry. Their wits, albeit long gone, still recalled their vow. To stand with their lord.
Whether they could ride, walk or crawl, they all march toward Redmane Castle. Towards the cliffs in Dragonbarrow. All to see the sky darkening.
Jerren watches you with baited breath and places his sign down. Offering you his assistance. But from what he saw, he only would get in the way.
Phase 3:
The loss of Leonard awoke something in Radahn. Something that has been dormant for an eternity.
He stops holding back. Stops holding back the corruption spreading through his being. Stops holding back the stars.
For you have earned his full might.
The soldiers of Radhan watch.
One began to chant.
Two.
Ten.
All.
For them, you are an enemy. One they had fought and killed maybe many times.
But in this very moment, in this very night, you are the only hope to give Radahn the warrior's death he craved so much.
As the sky begins to fall, finally released from the Redmane Lion, they watch on as Radahn is slowly being consumed by the remains of the Scarlet Rot. Casting his weapons aside, as he wishes to fight you like the Elden Lord of old.
You clash one more time.
And end the festival.
