It's probably my favorite episode. It's just so funny and perfect. Troy raising up out of the wheelchair to slap Starburns is just... chef's kiss.
To me the end of this episode means like, literally everyone was the Ass Crack Bandit, because its a very normal prank that people in general do (or did when change was normal). Like the whole episode we were all treating it very seriously like it definitely had to be one person, but I think literally every character they showed had done it at least once while not taking the situation seriously off camera lol And then they were all worried about getting caught for it because of how seriously it was being taken or something. Probably not the actual meaning, but thats what it is to me 😅

this begins the best trilogy of episodes, from ass crack bandit, to next weeks, and the next. those 3 episodes are some of the funniest randomize shit ever. I love these set of 3, enjoy the next one especially
It's Abed. In the bleachers scene, he's up front, but right before the cracking, he disappears. Also, Annie's whole line of reasoning starts with the assumption that someone would have to be really fast to get from scene to scene, so she thinks someone used the faculty lounge. But we learned in early seasons that Abed is the best athlete on campus and is the fastest. He could easily do it. Lastly, he's the only one with a strong motive, because he'd love to do a Fincher homage. It's Abed.
If you want to know who the asscrack bandit is there are two videos where the cast reunites for a table read through of an episode. The second video is a kind answer of questions and some ask who the asscrack bandit is and they reveal who "she" is
This movie nails it as a style parody of David Fincher crime thrillers. Garrett's line "GREAT! NOW I HAVE THESE FOLDERS TO DEAL WITH" is one of the reasons that Garrett is my spirit animal The next episode is literally my favorite episode of this entire series.
What if one of those headlines in the intro had a quote from an anonymous victim and it said, “I didn’t think I’d make it out with my crack intact. Pop. Pop.” 😂
Guys starburns was confirmed to be alive at the end of season 3 I believe. Its at the end of a previous one, you could read it on a newspaper they shot to end the episode. I even think we saw him at the end of a season as well shaving or something. Regardless him being alive is not new information, im 100% sure. Anyway, eric says they are one third of the way there to confirming pierces replacement... I thought the best was within 3 episodes starting from the first one last week, then this one this week. Only 1 more episode to go right? Wouldn't that be 2/3s of the way there?
The Ass Crack Bandit was such a random callback to a one sentence reference from Season 2. But what an amazing mystery they formed for it. My money is still on Abed being the ACB, but who knows, maybe we do get an answer in the movie.
I think a theory is that it’s many of the study group, Annie, Britta, Abed, when Troy is presenting the Troy Law, you can see Abed next to the Dean, but when the cracking begins, he’s no longer there
My theory is that Duncan was the original bandit but then when he had his fun he left. The recent incidents were then conducted once again by Duncan but Shirley is became the second one as a way of getting revenge for Troy.
I think at some point, everyone (the major characters maybe excluding Jeff) cracked someone else. Like a copycat crime. They all had motivations or the capability to do so. They used the situation to their advantage. Regardless, I think Film Theory's explanation of who the bandit could be is very interesting.
Theres a lot of great theories surrounding the ass crack bandit. Havent heard "there must be multiple people," which is a similar theory surrounding Jack The Ripper. One of my favorite fan theories is that it was Abed. The note from the bear sounds like his manner of speaking. And he disappeared during the bleacher scene, when he was with the Dean. On another note, I think it ironic Starburns claims he came up with the first animal powered form of transportation, while living in a stable.
Nah, Abed will be the favorite. The scene in Duncan's office proves it's not Annie to me, the articles show many cracking at school events that Jeff would not be near. Abed loves movies, knows everything going on campus, fast enough, would know how to get night vision and voice changer. Also disappears from sitting next to dean during the bleacher scene.
One of my favorite elements of Hot Fuzz is the villain being so absurdly obvious that when the reveal happens, you’re actually kind of surprised that he actually is the villain.

The first episode of an AMAZING three episode arc.
The second video is a kind answer of questions and some ask who the asscrack bandit is and they reveal who "she" is
This is so great I almost forget what's coming.
This movie nails it as a style parody of David Fincher crime thrillers.
Garrett's line "GREAT! NOW I HAVE THESE FOLDERS TO DEAL WITH" is one of the reasons that Garrett is my spirit animal
The next episode is literally my favorite episode of this entire series.
What if one of those headlines in the intro had a quote from an anonymous victim and it said, “I didn’t think I’d make it out with my crack intact. Pop. Pop.” 😂
There is a table read of the next episode that the cast/creator did during covid. They have Pedro Pascal as a guest and it is hilarious.
According to Harmon, it was Annie.
I still cant believe that even MatPat make theory episode of this episode, theory about who could be the "A.C.B." in Greendale Community.
Its now believed that the ACB is Abed.
Abed and Troy like Scream
I think a theory is that it’s many of the study group, Annie, Britta, Abed, when Troy is presenting the Troy Law, you can see Abed next to the Dean, but when the cracking begins, he’s no longer there
They did that intentionally, like in zodiac using multiple actors to keep the audience guessing on who the killer is. Also it was 100% Annie
@@slayer45670then the scene with Annie and Duncan makes no sense, make the audience think it's Duncan only to crack him in the next scene?
It’s more based on Fincher movies than procedural dramas.
I love the blue lens saturation
the next episode is one of the best IMO.
as a huge david fincher fan, this is my absolute favorite episode of "community"! ❤
“If he’s not dead in three episodes-“
Pierce: “I guess I’ll die, then” 💁🏻♂️
My theory is that Duncan was the original bandit but then when he had his fun he left. The recent incidents were then conducted once again by Duncan but Shirley is became the second one as a way of getting revenge for Troy.
BTW, the Asscrack Bandit was first mentioned by Annie in the episode where she was running for school president.
There's a scene in the season 3 finale that shows starburns isn't dead, so it shouldn't come as a surprise...
It's actually Annie! Dan Harmon confirmed in an interview.
I think at some point, everyone (the major characters maybe excluding Jeff) cracked someone else. Like a copycat crime. They all had motivations or the capability to do so. They used the situation to their advantage. Regardless, I think Film Theory's explanation of who the bandit could be is very interesting.
This one and the next 3 after are easily 4 of my favorites in the whole show
Theres a lot of great theories surrounding the ass crack bandit.
"I was taking care of my sick mother. She's fine, but I've put in my time"
My fav episode
TO me its abed, its the fastest sprinter in the whole college. The way he tricks Troy....
🎶 A S S C R A C K bandit 🎶
I think the people I suspect the most are Jeff and Annie. They get to, as the Dean said, go on cutesie capers holding hands in the dark.
Ben Folds' song really helps make this episode.
That Ben Folds cameo lol
One of my favorite elements of Hot Fuzz is the villain being so absurdly obvious that when the reveal happens, you’re actually kind of surprised that he actually is the villain.
