    Thanks for this video. I was just about to take my Citiz apart when I decided to try this method. I brought out the Dawn Powerwash which also really helped. I used the descaler kit before this which did nothing. I then flushed it with more vinegar and water until the leaking stopped. I'm so happy I don't need to get a new machine. :-)

    Muchas gracias de antemano.

    Didn't work for me. Tried everything now, descaling, full clean, removal of capsule plate and cleaned the holes with a pin. 3 times I've taken the machine apart now (which was not an easy task). I'm wondering if there is an o-ring or seal somewhere that has gone but none of the videos mention this...

    Omg this is so helpful! I was doing descaling today (first time after 8 years lol) and wondering why coffee keeps coming out after 20+ flush. Also can I ask is it normal to have water leaking into tray (mostly from the back side of capsule chamber) when running descaling? Only ~5% leak directly into tray in espresso mode but lots of leaking when descaling.

    • @SvenAERTS
      @SvenAERTS 2 года назад +3

      Ah yes, when you are descaling, do you put in a coffee capsule? If not, the water "falls" directly down into the drip water reservoir before it reaches the outlet nozzle.

    I think I may have gotten water inside the motor because now the thing is just working by itself and I cannot stop it unless I unplug it. I'm going to let it dry and hope that I did not "kill it". But thanks for the tip! A lot of black stuff came out.

    Thank you for the video. I followed the instructions and when I plugged my machine back in it was in descaling mode and will not exit. Running descaling program, pressing one or both buttons for 7 or 30 seconds - nothing works. I wonder if turning the machine upside down or water getting onto it coukd have caused this. Any tips in what I could do to get machine back to normal. I have a delonghi nespresso very similar to the one in your video. Many thanks for your videos.

    • @benassy69
      @benassy69  Год назад +1

      To exit the discaling mode you have to pres both buttons for only 3 seconds. It is almost impossible for water to reach the electronics even if you put the machine upside down.

    Hi, quick question. My Nespresso machines water is dripping from the top. Do you think that is the same issue? Or do you think it’s the o ring that needs replacement ? Or maybe it’s a different issue? Water is runing smooth from the nozzle but splashed from the top where I close the capsule.

    • @benassy69
      @benassy69  2 года назад +1

      Hi. I suspect the big O-ring is not making a tight seal on the top part.

    • @benassy69
      @benassy69  2 года назад +2

      No need for disassembly for cleaning if there is no leak. Just run the machine without a capsule and with some discaling solution.

    My nespresso coffee machine does not draw water, I wonder why?

    • @johnwang9914
      @johnwang9914 7 месяцев назад

      The basic original design has the narrow end of the capsule perforated by three prongs and water pumped into the capsule till the pressure is high enough to press the foil covering the wide end of the capsule which presses against a waffle textured perforated panel to the point where it bursts in many locations by being pressed against the waffle allowing the coffee to flow out. On top of that, since the first original model, the design has been modified to rely on a silicone seal on the capsule itself to seal the capsule in, just so that clone capsules cannot achieve the appropriate 19 bar pressures needed for traditionally brewed espresso hence water leaks into the drain oan id no capsules are in the machine which was not the case with the original model. Now, if the perforations on the waffle plate are clogged perhaps with grounds, then the pressure may increase above desired limits forcing water to leak into the drain pan. If a capsule was not packed and tampered appropriately, the foil may not break and nothing will flow out. There are two O rings to prevent leakage at the pump and where the capsule fits in to ensure the pressurized water enters the capsule, these can leak over time. I found with the original model that sometimes would not flow out but just removing the capsule and either reinserting it or inserting another would allow the coffee to flow. Of course, that original model was about twenty years ago and can no longer be purchased, the new models such as the Insinnia shown, have features so that clone capsules are less likely to produce reasonable espresso and hence are more likely to leak water into the drain tray and I did not see such leakage till these newer models. Cleaning the machine thoroughly mostly addresses the perforated waffle plate becoming clogged though sometimes you need to disassemble the machine to remove the waffle plate and insert a pin through each perforation to clear them thoroughly but you may also inadvertently widen the holes resulting in excessive flow rates lowering the quality of the espresso. There are now clone machines that have different seal and perforated designs that are friendlier to clone capsules which may suit your needs better. All I can say is that the original nespresso line uses pressure to extract the flavour thus creating the crema that are produced but the new Vertuo line uses centrifugal force to extract the flavours and create the crema. Personally, I prefer the original pressure method as it is the traditional method of producing espresso but some coffee shops such as Second Cup, switched to centrifugal pump method nearly a decade ago.
      Disassembling the machines seem to be a real pain as much of it are press fitted hence the tabs are easily broken or bent, however there are videos of people disassembling these coffee machines both to clean them and to replace the O rings and apparently once you've disassembled it once, it's a lot easier to disassemble thereafter as everything will have been loosened.
