Listen, as a Casual 40k fan I only watch videos from 3 fan channels, Yours, Occulus Imperia and Valrak.
I've no need to visit others Aside from the Fan Films channels like Alfabusa, ASTARTES, and the Death of Hope story.
Those are Great to be sure but I enjoy them for the Fan films they make and I dont visit those as often as I do The Big Three.
Valrak for the Stuff fans interact with, the games, the stories, the merch..the Fan Side of things. But for the Stories its You and Occulus as the BEST.
At 48 years old I know Truly Quality content when I find it and out of the Dozen or more channels I Started watching to get Casually Caught up to speed, I ended up whittling the number down to 3 plus ancillary awesomeness.
Nothing against the others but the two Greatest Sources of Creative Detailed and Immersive Narrative Explorations falls Squarely and Equally and Your Feet, You and Occulus ARE the Best out there..end of story.
And aside from my Initial Curiosity kicking back in it's you Three in total after I played Spacemarine on my PS3. I had passing interest in 40k after high school, but mostly for the ART. Being an artist creator myself I appreciate the Immense Depth to the Lore which akin to the stories that can be attached to Real World Samurai swords, the Stories behind Each and Every little thing are just DELICIOUS to my imagination.
I'll be honest, as a Casual I've only Perused the game books, I haven't read a single novel either.
I have read a Bunch of White Dwarf magazine back in the day, perusing the game books for the Artwork has always drawn my attention, and I even Played a wee bit back in the day.
My pals were I to it and I wasn't as even back in the 90's the Costs were prohibitive for a hobby for me, but my friends who were a lot more Into it had bought 3 Boxes of the first edition, here in Canada so who knows which it was, of SPACE HULK.
So we cracked them open and I was pleased to discover that it was essentially the Combat aspect of one of my favorite films at the time, ALIENS, was the Basic Scenario for this game. At that time I was Barely aware of the Depth of the Lore at that stage of the IP's existence, but it was again the available game books around what we were playing that HINTED at this Great story and That Showed in the Artwork.
That's what's Kept me Casually Interested in 40k, and it's you Three that Spur On my Interest now.
I'm on a limited budget being disabled so I have to pick and choose my Entertainment very carefully so the Tabletop game and books are out of the question for me.
The Novels Less so but I've less interest for that right now as my Attentions are focused on a Personal Star Wars Art project which I plan to make into a Fan Film Series of which I'm Writing and Drawing previz art for now.
But when I need a break, its Here that I come go to, or over to Occulus or Valrak's channels.
Its because of You Guys that I'm still here, getting the...Abridged version of things but With ALL the Emotion and Love and Dedication for 40k that I Appreciate Immensely.
Its because of you all, and in one instance it's all Valrak, that I bought a copy of DEATH WING to play on my PS4 after having watched playthrough videos I had to get it for myself when it was on sale.
Years after it was popular with Maybe a Handful of Multiplayers still playing but yeah, it's a Decent Game, not Fantastic, very repetitive even, but the Map, the Space Hulk to explore, the DETAIL is just Gorgeous.
I'm So Looking forward to Spacemarine 2 as I Loved Captain Titus and knowing the Fan Film creator responsible for ASTARTES is Behind this game...OMGoodness.
The Game Play looks Absolutely STUNNING and Stellar and Action Packed FINALLY to a Scale that Reflects what the action would have been like from the ARTWORK.
That game I Cannot wait for.
The family animated adaptation of Helsreach was Fantastic and I've watched it 3 or 4 times now, probably gonna watch it again later today it's that good. I know its adapted from the novel which gives me an idea of the Quality of thise books, but I make up for what I cant read through these fan film adaptations and I hope the guy that did That does More of them as That was GREAT.
Anyways, Baldemort as a Casual Fan something popped I to my head watching today's video and it was this...what's the In Lore Story for Your Servitor Avatar?
For All the Lore you Gloriously Recount for our entertainment and education...I as a creator get Curious about the Avatars Many a YT host creates for themselves so they dont have to appear on camera.
And for some time I've been Curious about Yours...SO Purely for FUN I would Humbly issue a Challenge/ Request as I think it would be Fun as well as Entertaining.
What's YOUR Story?
That's Gotta be worth at Least a 10 to 15 minute Video.
The "Character" of Baldemort feels a Bit like R2-D2, a Present Observer of a Saga across its beginning and end, the Skywalker Saga as it were.
I'm Curious as to the Character that Occulus Imperia has created for himself as well.
I wanna KNOW these fan creations of Both...so Here's the Challenge/Request as a Humble Casual Fan.
You and Occulus Both Write your own histories, but Keeping it Simple, Absolutely NONE of the Usual Dramatic Flair...Because you are Gonna TRADE Backstories to make a Video on!!
You do a Video on the 40k Character that is Occulus Imperia and Based upon what he gives you, That's when You add Your Dramatic Telling of his story and he does the Same for You.
Like handing over a Basic Character sheet full of Facts and notable events that helped Shape these personalities.
You get to Play Each other Up and I think That would be FUN.
And Then...and THEN because you both are apart of my Big Three...You Both TEAM UP to do One Video on the Character of Chapter Master Valrak!!
Okay there's my spontaneous whimsy for the day Master Baldemort.
Anyways...regardless of whether or not you like this offered up idea or Not, I hope at the Very Least you get a grin out of it.

Well the Wolf Spears are no doubt one of the most interesting Indomitus chapters I wish the first successors of of Russ would be reborn. Long did the Wolf Brothers struggle and long has the galaxy awaited their return.

Dont even know if they were good or bad yet, so much opportunity a clean slate for writers.

The Space Wolves had their gripes with the Primaris but to be honest, they were going to be inevitable anyway. But you gotta respect their successor chapters for having such a strict tradition-oriented policy when it comes to developing their chapter culture.
They truly take the term "successor" and do good on that.

Of all the chapters I think all of the sons of Russ are my favorite. He is also my favorite Primark say what you want about the Lion, But when you want it hunted down and killed you send the wolfs.
Nah, Russ was utterly played by Horus. Sanguinius for me! He spends every waking moment trying not to descend into psychosis. And all respect to Russ…. But I suspect he would be lucky to last long against a brother who defeated both karbandar and angron sequentially. That act will never be exceeded.
Never thought i would be sad to hear that the lore starts. The stories are just so good.

I have to say I really appreciate how you use some of the music from mount and blade viking conquest to the video. A nice little touch for the viking themed marines.

I love the Audiobook of Dark Imperium on the Scene a Russ descendant thought his going to Fernris and got emotional when he got assigned in the Wolf spear while his fellow Grey Shield consoles him , it's already heart breaking to see his fellow Grey Shields walking their separate ways to find out your not heading on your own Birth Planet as an official member of Space Wolves..
The Wolfspear may be young bloods compared to their venerable brothers of the Space Wolves, but like any proud sons of Russ they will prove their worth and earn their glory. Their Sagas will be remembered by all with in the Imperium, and the sons of Russ will be earn their place as heroes of mankind.

You speak of them with a primordial weight. I like the joviality the Space wolves are capable of. But this chapters cold predatory calculating malice chained by kinship to the Space wolves and guided by loyalty to the imperium is refreshing. Would love to see them, Cacharodons and the Black Dragons kick butt together.
Man, I want to see more on the other successors so bad. The Icefangs sound very interesting with many being touched by the Othersea...a chapter of mistrusted psychic vikings.
I would like to see Girlyman’s reaction to the Black Templar.
I haven't read it, but I've seen a summary.

Have considered doing a video on some of the loyalist chapters that are believed to be from traitor legions? Such as the Doom eagles, Son's of the Phoenix, or the Scythe's of the Emperor.
Perhaps in the future. I leave that stuff to Remleiz and 40k theories really. He’s tons better at it than I.

Another fine example of weaving one of your own well crafted tales with approved material.
Although I am not a long time fan of 40K or GW, I was immediately drawn to the Space Wolves aesthetic. I found it tragic that the lore did not provide for (existing/recognized) successor chapters. As much as I appreciated the romanticized Viking berserker tactics and valour within the lore, I was disappointed by their lack of creativity in the use of stealth. In the wild wolves are keen predators and regularly use ambush, feigning and other deceptive tactics to fell prey. Furthermore they stalk prey from a distance for great distances, observe outsiders from the shadows and demonstrate great intelligence and patience. True hunters avail themselves of the means, skills and resources provided them, focusing on the ultimate goal of landing the kill while conducting themselves within an honour code. Mentioning the Kraken, I had previously felt it was a missed opportunity to have a xenos/tyranid focused chapter. Timely as the tyranids are poised to make an impact in the meta, or so I hear.
I have digressed sufficiently, I salute you Baldermort and offer a heartfelt thank you. Hope that you and Mrs. B are well. Take care.

My advice? Make up your own chapter. You’ll love it! (But wolves successors of course!!)

Balder, I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your sentiment as a more jaded WH40K player that all chapter deserve your undegrading attention. In this case it is the chapter that brought me into the game. Before I stated playing the tabletop, I always like the Space Wolves. But now, with the (my) new Primaris marines, I feel like my marines don't belong to the wolves of Fenris. As much as you dislike the Primaris, they are my representation as new comers to the game. And your entry on these Wolf Spears feel like a warm welcome.

Every time you focus on a specific chapter, I find a new favorite chapter.
Loved this video.
I see an interesting disconnect between their official lore as dark pack hunters of the void, hunting in the Dark Imperium. Alone and scattered.
And then Guy Haley's writing. He has them posted as a permanent guard of the Raukos Pit. They are the guardians of a mini eye of terror, fighting every day to contain it.
It will be interesting to see their future lore squad that circle.

Awesome Video. You made an interesting point about the lack of Successors for the Wolves or Salamanders in the lore. I don't think I've ever heard anyone who was deterred from making their own head cannon chapter irrespective of official cannon. It didn't even stop GW : }
As a neophyte to the lore and hobby I do not carry the same prejudice others may have for the primaris but this video has made me respect both the Space Wolves and the idea of primaris Marines a little more.

I'm really liking your approach on the successor chapters, top marks on all your vids. Might I suggest looking into the Exorcists or the Relictors? Would love to hear and see what kind of light you can shine on mysterious marines like those.

After reading the short story on the anthology: Successors I genuenly like the WolfSpears I also like the part that the primaris is shocked that a space marine could get drunk
Mjod is so toxic it kills normal humans and knocks most other space marines on their ass. There is death watch lore of other marines drinking with a wolf and being as ruined as a normal human being as hung over and vomiting as a good Christian boy going out on a night on the town with that group of guys (we all know) that goes out drinks more than most people think is humanely possible getting up at the crack of dawn paddling out to surf coming back home two hours later drinking a few more beers before they go to work( manual labor or reasterants) and doing it all over again.

wolfspear; one of my top 3 primaris chapter (the other 2 are Silver templar and dragonspears).
but in my eyes it also shows why the space wolve have had so few Sucessor so far: they need more Lore than the most others.
i just love the way you portrai chaos master B. you keep them evil, yet your chaos marines seem so much more pheasable than some of the offical portraials. there is cameradery as you would expect from soldiers fighting for thousands of years besides each other, yet its still a constant competition. soo much better than the comedicly evil mustache twirles as they are often written =) you are awesome master B never forget that!
you can't go wrong with everyones favorite space puppers! Even when it's a successor chapter! I hope that we get some novels covering their glorious exploits as a picture of all Primaris chapters.
