Hey Jacob, This is one of my all-time favorite videos of yours! Way back when I was in my teens me and my Mom, my Aunt, and a cousin, took a family trip to South Dakota. We visited every attraction that you did in this video! Wall Drug, the Corn Palace, Mount Rushmore, and the town of Keystone, we saw all of them! Ate lunch in the restaurant at the base of Mount Rushmore, stayed overnight in Keystone, had my picture taken sitting next to the dance hall girl on the bench at Wall Drug, and had a buffalo burger at the same place that you had the buffalo hot dog! You sure brought back alot of good memories! Thanks for all you do, Jacob! PS, I am now 67 years old, and we went on our trip when I was in my teens!
I love South Dakota. We travel across this great state every October to go hiking in the Black Hills in October . So much to see and do. I’m 63 and still have not seen and done everything. I really wish you had mentioned Dignity of the Earth and Sky statue in Chamberlain. It’s definitely worth the stop.
That Jackalope is amazing. I love how excited and happy you were. Lol That was a really cool place. I'm glad you got to visit with Pappy and Zoltar. All these places are awesome. : )
My husband and I visited Wall Drug in 2015. We spent at least 3 hours in Wall Drug. Loved it so very much and we are planning a trip back next year. We took our pictures on the Jacalope outside and used them as our Christmas card .
South Dakota is probably my favorite road trip state too! It’s so underrated. I have smashed pennies going back to the 1970s from all over the US. It’s a great collecting hobby, doesn’t take up a ton of space, is inexpensive, and fun to took at and sift through later. I have a couple of smashed quarters too!
The giant Jackalope to climb in at Dahl's was SUPERB!!! Even the interior is decorated n carved out beautifully!!! What a find!!! I have seen Wall Drugs showcased several times in other vlogs but never have I seen the giant chainsaw carved Jackalope attraction!!! Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!
I need to go back to South Dakota There are some new things to see Thank you, Carpetbeggar Again you gave me another destination to visit. Keep on moving. Love you and your channel. Say HI to Jen
Heads up I know you said you are headed to Detroit area . I live here . We are currently suffering thru another snow storm in outskirts of Detroit proper.. not so much in the City but suburbs are receiving 2-4 inches and its been damp and cold and very windy too. Please come prepared so you are not so cold like you were in last snowstorm...just for today by Sunday and Monday up to 55 degrees ...the joys of Michigan . Can live thru all 4 seasons in a 24 hour day. Be safe in your traveling and excited to see where you are going when you come to Michigan again
The little jackalope animal on the pedestal that collapses up n down almost like its dancing is a rare treasure of a toy!!! My Mom used to spend the entire year collecting little unusual toys, gifts, accessories for each of us 4 kids to put in our Christmas 🎄🎁 stockings, n those little "dancing animals" were one of the best little gifts she ever found!!! I remember filling the Christmas 🎄🎁 stockings with her late at night for my brother n 2 sister's with these special little collectible toys, n I wish I STILL had mine, but, unfortunately, they have been lost along the way. I am 66 yrs old n would love to have one from WALL Drugs!!! What a blast down memory lane past!!! Wall Drugs rules!!!
I have never seen a Quarter Press before!! That is very unique. Need to take the family out West just to visit the Corn Palace and Smash a Quarter. Lol.
I have one smashed quarter from the Cincinnati Zoo, and I have never seen a quarter smashing machine before or since. I don't think they have that machine any more unless it has been moved to a more obscure place (used to be in the manatee building.) The coin has a Sumatran rhino on it, probably my favorite smashed coin.
I believe friend of my brother's live in Mitchell Bob Barker was part of the Rosebud Indian Reservation Maybe during the summer you should take a road trip to South Dakota
Hi Jacob -- The only quarter smasher we ever used was at The Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticut, where you can tour the USS Nautilus, the first atomic submarine. This was back in 2012, so not sure if the press machine is still there.
Great video as always Jake! I love kitchy Wall Drug! I assume Sunday in Detroit, you are attending the Main Rouge (Detroits scapegoat for all its problems since the founding of the city) parade and festivities! I went last year, and it was incredibly unique.
I love South Dakota. I live here in Colorado and I’ve been there a few times never remember the wall drug. You’re a lot of fun to travel with. Thank you Jacob for taking us along.
I remember going to the Corn Palace and Wall Drug in what was likely '87 or '88. Maybe one of the most underwhelming vacation of my life as a kid :( But visited South Dakota again as an adult and was able to really enjoy the beauty of the state. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, with some new stuff!!! Save travels Jacob!!
The jackelopee is my favorite cryptid. They were no natural predators, including humans, and are said to be bulletproof. Shy and retiring by nature, the jackelopee s prefer habitat are grasslands and woods, but can be found anywhere. They can live up to 200 years, and are said to make excellent companions, if they decide you are trustworthy.
Hi Jacob. You were close with the mascot. I was just about to tell you about the mascot's name. Never mind you figured it out. LoL. I had to Google it. My dad's from South Dakota. I'm glad you went out there. You should've gone to the Four corners. You can see four states at once. It's pretty cool! Thank you for travelling all over for us. It's so cool.
Happy to see a cameo at the end of the video of the Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth, MN. I was hoping your trip would take you on that route and you would stop.
Jacob have you ever seen the Deer in Cabella in Hamburg PA! They have different types of huge tanks that are native to Pennsylvania. It’s absolutely amazing!
Good morning carpet bagger 🤗. I hope you’re having a great safe wonderful day but when you’re up around in these parts usually were knee-deep in snow so just as an FYI that’s the reason why a lot of the visitor attractions may not be open. 🙁. This has been an unusual winter for us when it comes down to the precipitation of the snow but that’s just an FYI anyways, you take care and be safe along your way. Thank you for sharing and have a great safe. Wonderful day.🫶🏻🤠
Hey Jacob you should visit Mount Rushmore they have interested things and a selernear Shop and Reptile gardens has stuff like llots of reptiles and Birds like a Snake Show and a alligator and Crodiles Show they have a huge T Rex Robot and kind of roar at people that walk by at the walls drug .
THE YEAR OF THE SMASHED PENNY!!!! LET'S GO!!!!
7:20 the genuine joy of Jacob’s voice when he spies the 2nd small jackalope inside the World’s Largest Jackalope is awesome! 🐇 👍
The genuine excitement when you do get to enter the Jackalope is pure gold Jacob.

I agree! Even just the exterior is awesome, but seeing how detailed the inside is was even more impressive.
I’ve seen a quarter press! I still have my squished quarter from when I went to Disney world in 1997.
YES ! The year of the smashed penny !
Awesome! I believe there is a wax museum next to or across from Wall Drug? That would be fun for you too! Wonderful video, thank you!
Cool place! Thanks for doing this video! I love that you're just a kid at heart ❤
I need to go back to South Dakota

Mesmerizing with largest Jackalope makes me forget that Jackalope is a cryptid 😆😂 love the new haircut Jacob, you look super sharp 🤭
Not squirrels or beavers
But Prairie Dogs!
I loved Wall Drug!!! Another spot to add to my bucket list!

Bob Barker was born in Washington, but grew up on the Rosebud Sioux reservation in South Dakota
Jacob we always did the penny smash of the year we went so that way we knew the year we went ♥️ thanks for another amazing video.
You do need to see all the all attractions at Crazy Horse! I love South Dakota, just not the long winters!
Those animatronics are awesome!

We stopped there but i didnt see all that you saw. We did the corn palace too. Loved it
Always great adventures with you Jacob Thankyou ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
That would be a mess if the corn palace caught fire.
Ya, but it would probably smell amazing
The faces of the band, especially the eyes. Nightmare fuel, am I right? 😂
Really fun video, Jacob!
Yes! They have seen some things! 😂😂😂
Good Afternoon Jacob 🙋🏽. Be careful out there ‼️👋🏽
you take the last steam ferry across lake Michigan on your way to detroit. it's a straight shot and would make a cool video.
I need to go to SD, it looks so cool. I missed when Pee Wee & Lorenzo Lamas were at Sturgis they are my favorites. I was so bummed 😢
Next up is going to be the year of Zoltar.
That was really corny 🌽 😂

The South Dakota State Fair is on labor day maybe plan making it back around that time
That is Billy Mills. 10K Olympic gold medalist.
I would DEFINITELY buy a Carpetbagger puppet.
Welcome to the year of the smashed penny!!❤😂
That is such a cool place and seeing how excited Jacob was to climb to the top of the Jackalope made me happy. I would be just as excited.
I remember buying a Jackalope Hunting Permit about 48 years ago.

Charles "Badger" Clark is the Cowboy Poet and first poet laureate of South Dakota.
Good Morning " YA ALL " Jacob
Hi Jacob 😊 I was at a book sale today so I'm just getting started to watch your video that is posted today. Thanks for sharing this.🤓📸
I just heard of a place you might want to go to. It’s
Anatomy of Death Museum 292 Cass Ave. Mount Clemens, Michigan 😊
Great video as always Jake! I love kitchy Wall Drug! I assume Sunday in Detroit, you are attending the Main Rouge (Detroits scapegoat for all its problems since the founding of the city) parade and festivities! I went last year, and it was incredibly unique.
Hopefully it will stop snowing
Has it really been 7 tears since you were in South Dakota? I still remember your previous videos of Wall Drug and the Corn Palace.
I love South Dakota. I live here in Colorado and I’ve been there a few times never remember the wall drug. You’re a lot of fun to travel with. Thank you Jacob for taking us along.

I have seen one of the smashed quarters in my life in another state, but do not remember where it was. Neat that they had one at the corn palace.

The song the cowboys play is Greenback Dollar by the Kingston Trio. It may be done by others too but that’s the group I listened to with my grandpa
I'm so happy you had a good time in SoDak! Next time, consider a stop in Sioux Falls.

Which wins out - the Wall Drug Jackalope or the "Here It Is" Jackrabbit?
As much as I love the Jackrabbit trading post, this wins……it has antlers
@@TheCarpetbagger i can’t argue with the tiebreaking antlers

Have you ever thought about getting your own Zoltar for the bunker? 🤣
I finally hunted and killed the jackalope in Red Dead Redemption.

There is a quarter smasher inside the McDonald's that goes over I-44 in Oklahoma between Tulsa and Joplin.
