I'm not typically one to defend congress people. Poorer congress people typically have to share an apartment in DC while in session. She lives in NYC, one of the most expensive places in the country if not the most and has to live within her district. That's expensive. Most of her fancy shit is borrowed.
49:00 mark (I think), B talks about people who can't fathom nuanced perspectives regarding politics. I think it's safe to say- if you're somebody who believes in party politics, you like to focus on how great the Dems or Pubs are- you have to have an IQ below 100, there's just no other way your worldview could be so warped.
It's apparent to anybody with a brain that the federal government is out for themselves, first and foremost. The only politicians that MIGHT give a fuck about you- are your locals (and that's a big MIGHT). Anybody working with public funds , is likely out for themselves or their families. I say local politicians MIGHT give a fuck about you because even in these cases- these local politicians will run on some policy that sounds good on paper- but then goes on to only benefit the family of the politician (through things like contracts, who gets first dibs at permits, etc).
Right wing, left wing, it's all the same bird, and the birds name is money.
