Muchas gracias.
He's an amazing composer, but he's not the....greatest, of humans. Stalking, and a heavy dose of Opioids...then again, that led to some of his greatest peices!
A stalker! All he did was pursue the woman he'd fallen for. As for drugs, he wasn't an addict. Where did you get the idea he was a drug addict.? I don't think he was. He might have tried it, but he wasn't known as some who over indulged.
@@authureenbrown5563 The American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein described the symphony as the first musical expedition into psychedelia because of its hallucinatory and dream-like nature, and because history suggests Berlioz composed at least a portion of it under the influence of opium. According to Bernstein, "Berlioz tells it like it is. You take a trip, you wind up screaming at your own funeral." Berlioz put a great deal of emotion into the piece, exploring the extremities of many ends of the emotional spectrum. He wanted people to understand his intentions behind it as they were the driving factor behind each movement and the story he attaches to the different parts of the piece. Berlioz said "For this reason I generally find it extremely painful to hear my works conducted by someone other than myself." In 1831 Berlioz wrote a lesser-known sequel to the work, Lélio, for actor, soloists, chorus, piano and orchestra. Source: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symphonie_fantastique
THE most underrated of all the composers top tier
I think we can finally say he is no more underrated; but is among the greats. It only took about 150 years after his career to get there!
I've adored this composer since I was 17! He made my stories and poems come to life.
Hector Berlioz raised the bar and it is still there.
Few days ago it was Berlioz anniversary of his birth. May we always remember his beautiful compositions!
When I stayed in Paris, our hotel was next to his grave
Zachary Fung wher you camping lol
I recently found Berlioz and listening to him every day! Thanks for the upload!
He was also a great writer. Apart from the journals and treatise, he also wrote a n autobiography, Memoires of Hector Berlioz. Great stuff.
What's it about?
Berlioz. un francais inspiré par la beauté de son pays, par le devoir de transmettre une lumière aux henerations futures...merci éternel..

I am having the most god awful day and this is helping me cope.
Happy Birthday, Berlioz! 🎊🎁🥳🎈🌹
I love this work of Berlioz since my childhood. Dad had an LP with several others but I think that Berlioz was the cherry on top of that album.
I am living in his village la cote saint andre in France. His composition is available for visitor in his museum.

Berlioz invented the modern orchestra.

Berlioz ROCKS!
They took his music to the moon. Literally his music was played for Apollo 11 on their trip to the moon along with Frank Sinatra and Merl Hager.
Frank Sinatra , I presume there was no mirrors inside the craft.
@Frank Vera wow , so Sinatra in person could have been dumped in the desert that's better still.
Не буду сыпать эпитеты. Скажу просто:величественная музыка!!!
Symphony Fantasique is the best symphony after Beethoven's era.
