Yup. They put this in a children's show. A childrens show where one character steals organs from almost every other character in the school.

One of those few moments that shows that Zim can truly be extremely villainous and intimidating.

I agree, though zim has shown that he can be quite dangerous overall, just incompetent at taking over the earth. in this ep though he was more like a horror movie monster picking off it's prey one by one.

Imagine being the only one left in the school, desperately trying to escape Zim, with the power out, as he searches for you. You see him, and he sees you. You begin running, Zim closely tailing you. Without warning, he darts into the air ducts, being unseen but still in your tail. You hear him getting closer... closer... closer... then it stops. All sound ceases. You think you're finally safe and catch your breath, only to hear the cooing of a pigeon right behind you.
That makes a good description for a horror game!
I suddenly feel the need to write a Shia LaBeouf parody, but with Zim.
You're walking down the hallway.
There's no one around,
And your phone is dead.
Out of the corner of your eye you spot him,
Invader Zim.
(I'll come back to this once I've created a full parody.)
I would do what anyone would do in that moment and make a diversion STOP.DROP.AND.ROLL 😎 if I'm gonna die better make the killer laugh
When it comes to being in that situation,there are 4 options:
1.Run and then get your organs stolen like a coward.
2.Fight him off if you can.
3.Be armed with a full stack of waffles(and syrup of course)
4.Get on your knees and beg for mercy!Put all of what's left of your dignity into it!

This sounds more like horror ambience than a full-on song; it'd fit in nicely in an Amnesia custom story.

The only time Zim *(as a character)* was truly intimidating.
I love how they parodied the boiler room scene from A Nightmare on Elm Street, complete with Dib running down the spiral staircase in a panic. Truly a classic!
1, 2, Zim’s coming for you. 3,4, lock your classroom door. 5,6, grab your crucifix. 7,8, The Dib is too late. 9,10………NEVER SLEEP AGAIN.
You don't really realize how amazing the music is... until you just listen to it.

Jaylene Hake watch rebeltaxi's "top ten disturbing invader zim episodes". he says there that the murderer who claimed to have been given an inspiration by this episode was debunked as just kidding about that. if only we had more killers with a good sense of humor like that.

The only thought running through my head as I watched this scene was 'WOW! THIS IS AMAZING! I WANNA LOOK AWAY DESPERATELY, BUT I JUST CAN'T!'
Seriously though, watching Dib get chased down and cornered by Zim in the depths of the school as he finally completes his harvest was probably one of the most fucked up things on this show and to this day sticks in my head when I think of Invader Zim. That and the fucking germ episode ._. This show really was amazing, but some of it was really hard to watch, especially when you're a 5-year old boy the first time you watch it.
The funny thing is I was never scared or anything. I found it hilarious .-. I probably have problems

The chase scene in Dark Harvest is one of the reasons why it's one of my favorite episodes!
I never should have watched this episode when I was younger.....
I was attracted to Invader Zim because I was a bit of an oddball child.This episode left me with a slasher smile on my face.
Oh god, this episode... I think Zim snapped that entire episode or something, cause he was basically killing all the other kids...
For some reason, I was making pigeon noises while listening to this song... O.o But seriously though, this scene did creep me out as a kid. After rewatching it recently, I wasn't as scared as I was back then, but I did get jumpscared by Zim in the shadows at one point.

I saw this episode when I was a little kid, it scared me bad. Even now when I'm binge-watching the series I have to skip this one.
I liked dat episode
Zim had more than one heart and an intestine stuffed into his mouth. His body literally composed of lungs, hearts, intestines, bladders, brains, and other vital organs. That was the darkest and grossest of episodes.
Polygon Man The funny thing is, I was like 7 and I didn't get upset until one of the kid's organs was replaced with a cat.
I never thought much of this episode, to be honest. I don't usually watch it either, but moreso because I find it less interesting than some of the other episodes. I think this one is overhyped, to be perfectly honest.
Cosmic Kitty dark harvest was my most favorite episode but I felt bad for the cat but aliens stealing organs is much more entertaining

I can't believe it took a me a while to realize the Reference to Nightmare On Elm street with Dib running Into the boiler room XD lol but seriously probably one of the most messed up episodes in a kids show ( it's like a mini horror movie ), does anyone else wonder what zim did with all those organs he collected after this ?

I think the fact that we all know what happens while this song is playing only makes it more terrifying.
The Dark Harvest episode was more of a horror film than a kid's show IMO.

Let us not forget that a man named Scott Dyleski claimed that Dark Harvest inspired him to kill his neighbor by carving out her clothes organs, probably one of the reasons why this show was canceled.

I remember seeing Dark Harvest on TV late at night when I was 4.
I was scared shitless of this show. Strange enough I only remember seeing the nurse have her brain replace, and that just fucked me for life
I felt so bad for Dib in the Dark Harvest episode. but I found some parts in that episode which were hilarious and disgusting. creator Jhonen Vasquez has said to the writers of the series that Dark Harvest was one of the most controversial Invader ZIM episodes.
This had to be the scariest episode.

years ago, they were sold on the internet but they were limited.so if you want to buy them now, there's hardly any chance that you find those cds. But maybe there are some dvd boxsets with soundtracks, i don't know :/
I was looking for the episode EVERYWHERE just to watch the chase escene only to find this ost which is what i wanted.
I loved the scene where we see Zim's face slightly illuminated then banishing into the dark room again

As all hell broke loose...All sound ceases...you think you're safe You look around Right then left you hear a pigeon cooing...Coming from the vents...That's how you know...You'll be next.

This episode, although HORRIBLE for kids, was legit so cool as a horror concept. It's like the scene in Alien where Ripley is trying to make it out of the ship before it explodes, except Zim is a hyperintelligent being who knows his exact location, and has taken the organs of probably like, 100 other children. Dib isn't even trying to stop Zim, he's just running for his life at that point.
I adore this, it's so my kind of music too. It's wonderful!

My apologies, but it turned out that the killer, Scott Dyleski, was joking about that and that this episode actually did not give him any motivation, or want to kill anyone.

Dark Harvest caught me so off guard because I wasn’t expecting like horror material in a Nickelodeon show but I liked it lol
When I got to see this episode again in March, *BAM!* the exact same chilling, dizzying, nauseating feeling I got 8 years ago came right back at me! (At times, I had to crack my knuckles, because they were soring for all the pain Dib's schoolmates were going through).
This episode was crazy -- No! It was SCARY! (My sister called it "the weirdest"...)

I had a hugeeee crush on ZIM a few years ago when i was like twelve and I've gotten over it but Dark Harvest makes me question that.
Watch the scene for this music. Now imagine yourself as Dib. You are in that room doing whatever hes doing. Then the lights go off and you hear cooing. As you try darting out the exit he's just right behind you, getting closer. You run into a boiler room and you just keep running until ZiM pops up right in front of you. Have a good night sleep. (I know I did and I'm 14 and I saw this when I was 10 and I'm surprised adults are still scared of this. I watch this crap for breakfast. I watch courage the cowardly dog at night by myself.)
