Donut is a good name. Dunkly Donuts! Lmao But so tanky and such a high torpor. But the Glacus can do a lot of torpor if you want to risk their attacks on the tame. Also, their stun when being bit does torpor too. Sometimes I let things bite on it for a bit, then finish it off with my tranqs.

Being so tanky, I kinda thought that's the reason why dunkles take so long to knock out, even without headshots which I'd expect their bone face plate reduces damage just like the Trike's crest when hit head-on

The deinosuchus will be in the main game, you should tame one to kill an Alpha Glaucus, the giga bite gives bleed which is amazing against it, you could use riptide in back up when he stuns the deino.
Either that or a pack of Xiphacnitus ;)

Name suggestion "Edmund RockWhale." Also i think frogs are great for taming. Torpor over 10secs on atks and they can swim/ walk backwards while shooting off the back
Dunkies are the highest torpor of any vanilla tranq tame. Also, you won't need an Anky if you find some metal with the dunky - they are MUCH faster gatherers.
Not the highest torpor. It's definitly high, but they have a 60% Damage Resistance against projectiles, which means 60% less torpor from tranqs

Dunks on the Center are harvest Kings, My ankies are permanently retired now. 1 run with 3 high weight dunks 7K+ weight capped out my indy forge and overflowed into another chest, Oh and I'll never need obsidian again.

Go back to where u got the artifact of the brute and go to the bottom and on the ridges about halfway down. Metal and crystal for days
Another Yuti and Honey for Kibble think you need a greenhouse also. If you look in the middle of the deepest ocean there is tons and tons of metal etc and there are no mobs there. Could get an angler for pearls that would seem to be fairly easy since they will definitely chase you.

Im pretty sure its just the Dunky having a rediculously high Torpor. Makes it a massive pain in the ass to tame. Especially with all the other critters swimming about. Well worth it though. Its weight reduxtion makes it a must for water building. Also hope your ready for the Deinosuchus to appear in a few days!

Dunklys have a very high Torpor stat and their natural armor makes them take only half of the damage you deal to them, which also halfs the torpor thats dealt. Using over a 100 tranq arrows on a high level one is not unusually.

I know I am late to the party. For dunky taming I usually use harpoons or a bred and leveled frog. 😅 I felt the frustration before of using a crossbow. 😢

The dunks are great for harvesting but transporting the resources is too much work unless your base is right next to the deep sea.

I will never tame another dunky or angler without a harpoon gun/tranq spears. Still a PITA but so much better than crossbow.

Sadly they do not breed that way, basically they each create a clone of themselves not sure it can even mutate though i would imagine it can. So Syntacs would pop out a 190 and Axemans would pop out a clone of itself what ever level it was when he tamed it.
Yeah….. some peace treaties are gonna need to be sorted out before any breeding can take place place.

Here is so info I pulled off the wiki for the Dunky:
Damage/War: Being the only tameable water animal that can break stone structures, the Dunkleosteus gains a valuable place in water raids. Use them as a cheap method to get into stone bases underwater. (Level up Melee Damage Melee Damage, Health Health, Movement Speed Movement Speed (130%+) and Stamina Stamina)
Gatherer: Excellent at collecting large amounts of oil and stone from underwater nodes. They will also harvest Black Pearls from dead Eurypterids. As of 264.3, they can now harvest metal. (Level up Melee Damage Melee Damage, Weight Weight and Movement Speed Movement Speed (130%+))
Tank: While less health than a Mosasaurus, the Dunkleosteus has armor (reducing damage taken) and high level of Torpor. This combination can be used to tame other sea animals like the Tusoteuthis if a Mosa is not available. (Level up Health Health, Movement Speed Movement Speed (130%+) and Stamina Stamina)
Transport: With a base weight of 920, the Dunkelosteus makes for a decent pack animal in the water, as they are a lot easier to tame than the Mosasaurus, though they don't have a platform saddle nor the Mosa's damage/health. (Level up Movement Speed Movement Speed (130%+), Weight Weight and Stamina Stamina)
Battle Mount: In Mobile the dunkleosteus can be very tanky if you equip it with a good Saddle and give it a Metal Chain Collar (Level up Health)

The Dunkleosteus reduces the weight of the following resources by the listed amount while they are in its inventory:

Crystal 50%
Metal 50%
Obsidian 75%

People like you can't possibly exist.....
Always build a trap running around chasing them when they run away etc etc is dumb you are bound to drag all kinds of crap on yourself and your tames. ( yes i know it was weird and wouldn't chase you) Look at yesterdays video on my post, that mid sea smelting platform is amazing. You have a bunch of Glaucus eggs raise them up make saddles and use them to kill the Alphas. you started with 141 arrows, made maybe 70 more and shot a few at the 150 before you started on the 130. Dododex says you need approximately 160 hits with a base Xbow and tranq arrows. So figure 130 hits with your boosted one's.
