I love the BroCock rifles. I like the semi bullpup design. I almost purchased one when I bought my BSAR10 SE. But Iam a sucker for history and BSA is loaded with it. Maybe I'll buy one next. Thanks brother for your excellent video 👍🇺🇸
Brocock has some history.... But I totally see your point as well. The people who worked in the BSA factory were patriots. There is always time Heith.... I'd seriously look at one!
@@southwestshooters Brocock Commander XR .25 Cal. My first heavies I used were (JSB Match Diabolo Exact King MKII Heavy .25 Cal, 33.95 Grain Pellets) And after I used them I got hooked! The heaviest I’ve used so far with a perfect hit has been with (Hunters Supply Flat Point .25 Cal, 49 g ) purchased at airgundepot And that was at a range of 20 yrds ,it exploded a Pomegranate with an awesome force 🤠
Ahhh I'm back , been ill with covid and related illness , not quite out the woods , possibly more visits to the hospital in near future ... right , I'll start by saying the Brocock is my go to rifle for popping off rats at the bottom of my bird feeder ( I must add its the Bantam Sniper hr NOT this incarnation , but essentially the same ) firstly I must add , that the spreads on the targets MAY not be down to the pellets and whether the barrel is compliant or not , but the actual magazine through which they are loaded and fired , found this with mine , with the added complication I used two different mags to test pellets , I did however find pellet ( eventually ) that was compliant , with the magazine ... id advise using the provided single shot tray to test pellet accuracy in this rifle ( if it behaves the same as mine ) , this puts every pellet on a level playing field , without the obstacle of being pushed through a magazine ... As far as the power adjuster goes , its a great asset , both for over penetration in barns ect , AND on the range , great for hold over shooting on just over 6fpe at different ranges ... makes for interesting shooting , and great practice ... also , does not the Redwolf have different power levels ??? Excellent shooting btw , far better then anything I could achieve .. probably too old for it now , nevertheless I still enjoy it in my own little world ...
Mark. I hope you are OK!? I remember you saying that you weren't feeling great a few weeks ago. Health is wealth. So I hope you are recovering. I honestly don't use the power adjustment on the RW either.... I just have no use for it, but it's awesome that you do. I am so pleased you are back commenting my videos again. Take care.
I've got the Bantam Sniper HR in .177 . I simply don't use it because it is so inaccurate. I've tried various different pellets through it but I can't find anything that gives me any consistency. It also tends to give me at least 2 flyers out of every magazine. It's a shame because it's a lovely gun, but what's the point in having an inaccurate gun? It didn't come with a single shot tray and you mentioning the magazine is making me wonder if it's the magazine that's at fault. Is it worth trying another magazine? What pellets do you find best? JSB exacts are the best I've found for mine but still very poor. I'm back using my HW100KT again which is absolutely superb. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
@@tigerick7291 I have 2 magazines , the one that came with the rifle , and one my daughter bought me for ( I think ) my birthday , and YES , one is slightly better then the other .. which led me to believe its a mag problem at the start , nevertheless , the H&N Baracuda FT too be the best , after substantial testing of many different pellets( the FT is important , as the standard baracuda for some reason doesn't work ) you can probably get a single shot tray off eBay for pennies , personally im after a single shot loader , got them on all my rifles , just find them that little bit more accurate .. NOT wanting to sound patronising , im no expert myself , have you Checked the silencer ( if you've one attached ) isn't clipping Checked the action is secured too the stock Cleaned the barrel & leaded back in Checked scope is secured too the rifle ( yes even a PCP can loosen bolts after a while , specially on rifle that give a bit of a clunk on firing ) Give scope to action a good pinch up NOT so much the securing ring , as not to damage tube Then re-set scope Try WITHOUT silencer on ( if applicable ) Chronograph rifle for consistency ( a seal MAY be in need of replacing ) Lets us know how you get on
Just too add With the baracuda FT thorough the magazines ( bearing in mind again one is SLIGHTLY better then the other ) im getting @30 mtrs a group that a 2p Will cover in breezy conditions ( consistently ) and in calm weather ( rare in England ) will be covered with a penny most of the time , and often a 5p piece ... single shot tray .. in calm weather quite regularly a 5p , but most always a penny piece .. bear in mind , the rifle is an hunting rifle and by no means a bench rest world championship contender . That said , it SHOULD easily be on par with your HW100 , mine is a TAD more accurate then my HW100 , due to the fact my HW100 is .20 calibre .. but ONLY a TAD Ps , have you tried lightening the trigger? Sometimes if its too heavy , it will tend to pull to one side or the other , depending on whether your a leftie ( like me ) or a rightie , as there's no swivel adjustment on the Brocock to compensate Just pushing a few ideas around ..
@@markhomer5704 Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've tried it without a silencer, with an aftermarket silencer and with the Wiehrauch one off my HW100 which does give better results. Tried swapping the the scope and mounts but that didn't change anything. The trigger is set fairly light and the guns shooting at 11.2 ft/lb with the Exact pellets. I might get it out of its dust covered case today and see if I can find anything loose or misaligned. Thanks, I appreciate your guidance.
Good honest review Chris.A nice compact gun that looks really well put together.I know what you mean about the safety, not a good place to put it.Groups we’re very good. What was the digital scope? Atb 👍🏻😁
Thank you! The digital scope is from a limited number that have been made avaliable from MTC. If you check out one of my recent videos, I give a really detailed review!
Hi Chris, The Brocock XR series of rifles are great. I have the laminate Sniper XR mines not massively pellet fussy but I guess all barrels are different. The regs are factory set in Sub 12 and sealed to stop power adjustment. The power/transfer port is pretty pointless in Sub 12 as you say. The safety literally just blocks the trigger, which is why I guess it is where it is, I find it ok, as I only re-engage the safety when out of aim. Great review keep up the good work, look forward to the next one.👍👍
Thank you Dave. Yeah, the power adjustment seems a little pointless in sub 12 format, but I'm sure it would be great in FAC. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Great vid Chris!
well done, and keep 'em coming.

More coming soon! Thank you for your support!

I just started to get into heavies myself and man I’m nailing a 7in target at 108 yrds out with 33 grain hollow points and it’s hitting with a Wop!
DANG. That's some awesome shooting! What gun are you using?

Good shooting there for sure, that brocock’s obviously a good gun but I’m more a traditionalist, the Matt barrel looks similar to my revere.
