This incarnation of Spider-Man is genetically enhanced, therefore, a lot of his powers are biologically based(I.e, he can produce organic webbing as opposed to using mechanical webshooters). In the comic books, however, where his powers originate due to being bitten by a spider that was exposed to radiation, his powers have somewhat of a "molecular" origin, if you will. It's been suggested that Spidey clings to walls by altering the composition of his finger tips and the things he touches.

What If In Spider-Man 2 They Make You Play Both Peter The Experienced Spider-Man, And You Play As Miles Going Behind His Back Trying To Figure Out His Powers And Peter Yells At Him. That Would Be A Way Better Cinematic Moment Than The One In Homecoming. Like It Would Be Badass To Play Both An Experience Spider-Man And A Non-Experienced Spider-Man.
