@@haris5040 steadfast doesn't synergize with brief respite for shield gating, you usually always want your abilities to refill shields on cast if that is your main tool for survivability
One thing to mention is how the armor cap and enemy scaling changes actually benefitted equinox a lot since she no longer needs to fully strip enemies to actually be able to kill them reasonably fast
True, though there's zero reason to not full strip regardless
Completely agree, my frost needs 8 kills with molt augmented for full armor strip (missing 2%) but God damn does it bug me that it's technically not full strip lol. @kyaii
@@kyaii There isn't, you're right, though not being reliant on a full strip opens the door for more flexibility in helminth abillity selection. (+ the enemy health scaling doesn't affect her damage at all)
I actually found myself using roar instead of terrify sometimes and while i wouldn't say it's a better option it feels more competetive with these changes and same can be said for other helminth abillities that provide utility other than armor stripping.
I.e she just generally feels better to play now as a nuker
Roar will not help you towards the outer edge of your circle when you reactivate maim. This is due to the damage fall off. Pay attention to the radar and you will know exactly what i mean. Roar really isn't competitive or a replacement for terrify my man. @actualcube5349
@@InfernalJackal Frost really does not need a lot of ability strength for a full strip, if you are running him with sub100, consider using Precision Intensify, as it's all he realistically needs.

Thank you for this video, Equinox was one of my first favorite frames when I first started playing, but I kinda fell out of love because I didn't know how to utilise her properly late game. I've become a lot better at the game since, and watching this video ignited my spark again to rebuild her! She's for sure gonna become one of my main frames again now.
3:28 if you often play in public matches then I would suggest you helmith over her second ability instead of the first, very often experiencing a host migration or internet issues will for some reason swap you to the other form, and if you dont have her first ability then you are stuck as that form for the rest of the mission.

Strength doesnt really matter for nuking since it only increases the first slash proc enemies get when they are in your range and night form is a nice backup plan with energy transfer since you and your allies can get all your health and shields back with mend
Correct. And so going over the strength threshold for 100% Terrify strip is completely wasted.

@@Hikabusha rest & rage it's not really good without the augment and it's slow to use and you won't even need the extra damage vulnerability if you are nuking and terrify is just better

I had some energy problems so I used fleeting expertise (not max rank) and streamline to get to 170% and then switched companion to dethcube. Fixed that wonderfully. Had to get rid of augur reach but doesn't seem to be a problem. Sweet build! Thank you.
Use seismic instead
Arcane energize, with a primed flow and preparation will be all you need. Oh and 130 efficiency
@@kyaii Can't really get to max stacks on seismic with enemies being dead all the time when they get into melee range of companion. :P Dethcube at least provides a consistent energy orb. Though I'm sure that isn't needed anymore either.
@RobertoCorsini you don't need flow, you also don't need streamline + fleeting. My build has 2.1 energy drain per second and I do just fine with only fleeting. Throw on two archon shards for energy efficiency and you'll never run out of energy if you nuke properly and quickly. My duration is also at 70ish percent.
@@yesiagree3833Why Preparation? It only applies to the very beginning of the mission. After that, it's quite literally a waste of a mod slot.

Sick build, but strength really doesn't effect anything but terrify, it doesn't effect the nuke output. I run more survivability, but anything works to make her amazing. I'm glad people are finally giving her love!

@@RobertoCorsini you can add anything tbh, but with molt your going to full strip with one cast within minutes, you do no extra damage on maim, the strength boost caps at 50 and the second ability is a single target and usless in most regular gameplay. You don't need half the strenght for anything on the build at all especially if your not using night form.
@@johnwarner7607 Yea my point was that shield gate should pretty much cover the survivability.. unless you need rolling guard.
That's a really good point, maybe more efficiency and energy would be a better fit.
Taking so long to setup that enemies die of old age, before you step foot in the battlefield, should be a baruuk problem, since he's a pacifist.

Not gonna lie, trying this with duality is really nice. Especially since you only need enough strength to full strip. Also having duality to stack kills, charge shield and kills for you is really nice.
Also having kuva ogris with arbitration build for this is really fun. It is a mini crowd killer on its own

I figured this out pre update, but appreciated for confirming I am doing something right. 👌🏾
I've always wanted to make a powerful nuking build and came to the conclusion that Equinox is simply the best.
However, I have issues with her survivability when I try to use shield gating: it just feels too unreliable and I keep dying from time to time (most likely I'm just too slow for that, being an old man sucks 👴).
So I replaced her 2 instead of 1 with Terrify to be able to switch to night form when I start feeling unsure if I'll survive (especially when an acolyte comes - surviving acolyte attacks in day form feels really hard for me).
I also sacrificed 15% range from Cunning Drift to fit Rolling Guard. And also I take a robotic companion with Guardian and Shield Charger to add another layer of defense.
With these modifications to the build, I really enjoy nuking with Equinox even when I play solo.
* About shield gating: I'm aware that Decaying Dragon Key doesn't work as it used to when the older video came out. Here I meant the shield gating that actually works: Catalyzing Shields.
But yeah, I still prefer Rolling Guard.

Ahh yes, shes the best nuker, here are the 100 steps to take to make it happer.
Meanwhile Saryn, hold cast 1, 2, 3, and nuke the map for 60 seconds.
I love the idea, but have to use grimour, parazon, focus, armor strip, sheild gating and all the other conditional buffs, still cant hurt acolytes, removes her warframes day night mechanic, all just to get on par with other frames doesn't make her the best. It makes her frustrating. And this is coming from someone, loves equinox.
She needs a rework, or an augment to make all 7 of her abilities more synergistic.
Congratulations! You found out why she hasn't been nerfed (which is great imo) hahaha. 😅 As another Equinox main, let me tell you there's other viable builds different from armor-strip maim nuke, and all of them benefited from the armor nerf. 😊 It's just a matter of playing with stats more. Different playstyles, of course. Not everything about Equinox is about nuking, as you surely know. Her sleep, her squad healing, her overshield generation. But people tend to stick to one form to min-max. 😢 To each their own, I guess.
@amonggus1 very much so, since writing that comment I've tried the nuking variant shown, and it's better than I gave it credit for, I was able to forgo a lot of the ramp up and just use the main combo.
I couldn't get it to ramp as hard as a few other frames, but very viable.
But the build feels wrong, I like moving back and forth between day and night, and even though CC is a little off meta, if found in EDA, where people just have to use what there given, it's very good to have up your sleeve.
Dang, was really wanting a build that uses the switching. Sigh, guess I'll have to hope a rework makes such a thing possible when they get too it in like 3-5 years.
She doesn't really need a rework. Plus having a build where she can switch around would be way too complicated for the general public and make her even more unplayed.
Its kinda sad that one of the best ways to maximize equinox's power is to ignore the mechanic that makes them unique.

I've been messing with this for a while now since your last equinox vid, though I still find myself still hungry for energy at times. There were times in pubs where I am having trouble starting up the combo since its hard to find energy with an already crowded build. Plus, I even tweaked mine for a shield tanking setup but its also a bit cope. I just can't help keep up with Shield gate really. It is good but I wish there was a more reliable armor strip that isn't terrify since im annoyed at the enemy cap and its energy cost. I did forget about Seismic bond which would help with the energy economy so that gave me an idea with other frames such as Jade lol.
Either way, Great build video! I can tell this took some time but shield gate isn't my cup of tea.
things like synoid gammacor, dethcube energy generator mod, or even archon shards make a big difference
I Use Gloom instead of terrify to stay alive I don't shield gate on anyone but equinox is a good gloom frame try it out :)
sometimes the mission doesnt start in day mode even though 1st emissive color is light color (i chose white), horns pointing up means day and pointing down means night if i am not wrong. and 200+ energy is a little, i ran out of energy when there is little to no energy orb drops, i found that changing the 3x helminth shards from ability strength to energy shards works much better. I tested it in the BOB alert missions.

Love the build! I just cannot stop using the night form tho. Its so good for round 60+ arbitrations. With the augment it really does give you a nice safety net. Awesome video!
Lovely stuff as always. I've never found Terrify's enemy cap to ever even remotely be an issue in all my hours of playing Dayquinox, but it is a nice thing to square away, even if it needs some specific conditionals like the Grimoire which I'm not a fan of. That aside, again, please remember *don't subsume over her 1, even if you never use night form* . Unless you exclusively play solo, Host Migrations can and will force you into Night, and since you don't have your 1 you can't swap back. You're not using her 2 anyway, so it's perfectly fine to subsume over it. Rare issue to be sure, but absolutely one nevertheless. 28% Equinox Prime playtime at 2k hours has unfortunately given me forbidden knowledge.
That aside... thoughts on a Roar setup? Been trying it out after the armor changes, and even with some exorbitant levels of Strength for Equinox.....I'm just not feelin' it unfortunately, Terrify's still the way to go. Just feel like it doesn't make a meaningful difference on non-armored targets, and it means Maim feels _terrible_ on armored targets since it still can't chew through the armor unless you stack it up way beyond what you'd normally need. Worst of both worlds in my experience. Nice if you maybe wanna go for a more true to form support role, with less frequent Maim recasts, but, eh, I like my big Maim booms. Gives out lots of dopamine.
Roar is not as effective unfortunately.
@@kyaii Heh, yeah. I thought as much, never hurts to get a second opinion I guess. Saw some suggestions for it on some other youtube video and I thought I'd give it a go. Tried playing around with it a lot and it just didn't remotely hit the right notes. Not having to cast Terrify every so often and just coasting on Roar's duration felt pretty nice, at least, but that's the most positive thing I could say about it.
It's sad that I need to get rid of her 2 for Terrify because I really want my Equinox to feature a sleep build... Oh man... Host migrations huh, well ... That sucks.

@@xxROSTACKKSxx Jahu Canticle's effect is way too slow and ineffective for armor strip, unfortunately. No other option even comes close to Terrify.

Amazing build 🔥
You can drop terrify and instead use helios or the grimoire to armor strip. the grimoire is nice because it strips anything in affinity range which is 50m at base and 75m with the vazarin focus tree. Night form is nice because her 4 gives you very easy passive shield gating and her 2 is a solid CC tool albeit over a relatively short area. It does take some time to build the muscle memory for the rotation since you want to activate her 3, then 4 in day form, then go back to night form for survivability, then activate her 3 again for some extra dr.
What are you using on the grimoire to strip
well she pretty much always needed armor strip in sp to nuke
saryn and volt and mirage may not nuke as fast but depending on which nuke it is

You need to try Nezha with a slash heavy weapon like Glaive Prime or Hate, its too good
Doesnt even need Helmitnh slot (low duration so Roar impossible anyway) so Im currently running Lavos Vial Rush over his 1 and its just next level fun
Good video with some smooth as hell transitions. One question though: would it ever make sense to run something like Pillage instead of terrify? Armor strip is only relevant for grineer and a handful of other enemies, whereas pillage strips armor, shields, AND rebuilds your own, possibly freeing up those mod slots? Unless pillage has LoS checks I’m not sure
I didn't know equinox could be used like that. Personally, I enjoy my build because it works just as well with only 40% damage and I can use night form without losing any of the dps benefits
I main equinox as a returning player… my old main was ash… equinox with terrify, roar and jades helm are what I been testing…

she's my go to for belly of the beast totally a game saver when cornered by 4 jade eximus
I am even more shocked that Mirage was that low. In terms of braindead spam map delete Saryn and Mirage are pretty similar convenience/complexity.

I would like to remind everyone that Prined Fulmination IS at Baro at the time of this comment, and works extremely well with Grimoire tome mod buff builds since it massively increases the size of the projectile :)

This is a nice build. I’ve been using Nezha but there just a couple of personal annoyances. This feels much better, although I am using pillage instead of Terrify
I like playing equinox as a support frame, with mend skield on kill and pacify, then gettin mad at all the red dots, swapping to day, to say goodbye, (With no LoS btw) and terify of course.
Nice things about my build which is nice (run bind rage with over extend and corrosive projection, but i think thats fairly standard): one tau blue for energy max, cos i think flow is a scam, especially cos equilibrium is the same polarity, but the bit of extra energy is nice, another tau blue for shield, cos i running a mod i think is slept on, in being borels hatred.
Of course not as much as primed redirection, i do like the energy efficiency helping neutalize blind rage, along with two tau red for duration to help the drain quite a bit. Last shard being tau yellow for casting speed.
As for arcanes, i always run molt efficiency, depending if im doind melee (not galives) i run arcane strike, for guns and explosions (envoy, tonkor, zarr) i run arcane rage ( i think, the one that gives flat crit chance), this slot is of course my flexable slot.
Man i love this girl, real strong support, and then can just decide to erase a room.

I made this with some tweaks (i dont have anything for my companion 😢) and this shit STILL nukes ive been a saryn main since i could afford platinum and buy her but im definitely making the switch to equinox! Was doing a max level duvari and its absolutely nuts

I use a similar build, except I swap prime continuity for umbral Vitality for 140str with three red tau.
And then adaptation instead of catalysing, and then a max rank fleeting instead of streamline for 160 eff, it says the drain is like 3.5 per second but with the 15 efficency from hound it drops to 0.88 per second :)

I think most people don’t know that Equinox has a nuke build or literally can’t use it. As a lot of people 1 won’t farm the main frame and 2 don’t want to farm or buy the prime.
As Equinox main, I find it wrong to remove the first ability, and secondly, night mode is important for survival.
I've replaced the second ability with gloom, and you can play as nuke and slow god even using it only when necessary
Alright I'm sold. This build takes up too many slots to be useful to me but im sure I can rework it to down to just one weapon slot (and the warframe itself duh)

Just press all bottons to do not lose your shield gate build. And nuke everethyng.

I'm pretty new to warframe and never played equinox, what is the cast order? I can't quite get the hang of it
try to always keep your 3 and 4 active, deal damage, activate terrify and then uncast your 4.
How would you rate this in comparison to Nezha using Divine+Harmony?
You'd get LoS checks on your nuke, but also 90% DR + effectively double shield gating at lower strength, while Divine still transfers the damage from Harmony, nuking everything (that isn't status immune) several hundreds levels into endless.
Edit: Just saw your comment about Nezha near the end; I couldn't agree less about Nezah being good for "low level only". Unless enemies are stauts immune and/or got weakspot mechanics, entire rooms of say Elite Archimedea enemies (lvl 400, double health modifier) still die in one hit.
10/10 I can't believe they talk about Nezha like they actually know anything about it when they have no clue.
Nezha is ridiculously underrated and brain dead people like this youtuber just have no idea what they are talking about at all.
I note in one of my comments that Equinox can be better than the other map nukers for specifically EDA-- But I also note that it depends on what is actually available on the rotation. It's so easy to outclass equinox for literally every role in the game, this guys just a fan boy.
Kyaii, I don't think it's a stretch to say this video's quality, efficiency and informativeness might be the best build video on youtube for any frame by any creator. Your editing and formatting has somehow gotten even better to watch, and the explanations are always crisp and lean. No wasted space, no overembellishing, and no dragging on dialogue to reach a timeframe goal. Look forward to the next one (Ember?).

Never really liked Equinox in the first place even with a nuke build. But I'll be happy seeing (hopefully) more Equinox players. I think the frame could use a buff, too (especially in Night form).

assuming your running a squad with some other aoe armor strip, ive seriously considered running chyrinka pillar with radiation ability damage shards.
I’m having THEE worst time trying to play this build with only a rank 3 energize, any way around this or do I “HAVE” to have a rank 5

@@tjockr8687 it is because I made the mistake and made plat off all 46 and wasted it on frames I THOUGHT I was gonna play but figured it out I just run with 175 eff so my drain is 0.88 I know it doesn’t need to be that low but that and seismic help keep my energy at least 75%
@@kyaii so you may already know this but I found using the pillage build better for corpus missions rather then terrify and terrify in any mission with enemies that have armor but then again you might have already known this

While Equinox isnt bad nowadays, I really really REALLY hope someday her augments get baked in. As you said, all of Equinoxs builds really want to build all Stats, and its just unacceptable to squeeze in 2 augments to really play with the "2 Frame-1Body"-Fantasy.
I built her nearly the same for nuking. Maim hits like a truck after Jade update and armor strip😑
Remember when having one Equinox for every focus school was the meta to farm focus back in the days? :D
I just have several different melee weapons with lenses for different schools, Equinox herself has the weakest Naramon lense to always gain some focus for it while grinding the other schools with most focus going to the weapon's lense thanks to Naramon's passive.
So when is the mining tool level cap happening

I run terrify on my nuke volt too, and with precision intensify. But still can't touch an equinox nuke.
nezha can nuke higher level though? use divine retribution with alot of range. strength isnt all too important so it can stay under 100%. use any weapon that applies alot of heat/slash/electric/toxin and it will shred...
