An idea for a Then We Fight: Each person gets to choose their randomized starters normally, no tricks or anything. They just get to pick their own mons. The catch is you then spin a wheel or use some other form of randomization six times and whichever six Pokemon you get, you then have to assign those stats to the pokemon you chose. So if you picked Charizard, Emboar, Mew, Wugtrio, Tornadus, and Mewtwo but spun or randomized Weedle, Wailmer, Miraidon, Ogerpon, and Lugia, you have to choose which of the six get Weedle's stats, Lugia's stats, etc. And maybe the opponent doesn't know who gets what, so its a mystery going into the first fight.
Then we fight idea: Ban 1, then select from the other two, BUT you must take one of the stats from the banned Pokémon and replace it with a stat with the Pokémon you choose. Each stat can only be swapped once
I've been getting back into overwatch recently too! Granted that's pretty much only because of the classic event going on..... I want so bad, for nintendo to sell the other pokemon games on the switch. Even if it's just gens 5-7. Because those are the ones I missed... OMG I'M NOT CRAZY! Maybe try just fast forwarding. A lot more likely than him changing something he’s done in almost every reaction ever from just one comment. But you are right i guess. They don’t get extra money for it.

Weighted RNG with a lookup tool would work for the second part easily enough. The question is how easily you can mod the stats.
