- Welcome to Cruiselandia! We love going on Cruises. We experience a lot of beautiful places while Cruising, and Mykonos is high on the list. For what ever reason, we didn’t expect much from this port, but we were pleasantly surprised. Scenic wise, it is hard to beat the contrast of white and blue mirroring the deep color of the ocean.

Do you have to take a tender? and what port do they bring you to in mykonos? old port or new?
We had to tender, at the old port. I don’t believe that is always the case.
Hi to you both!!! I love watching your videos. I am taking the same Cruise in 2024 in September. I wanted to know did you dock in the port of Mykonos. And walk around on your own? Also Santorini trying to decide which is better the boat to Oia then take a public bus to Fira or start in Fira. Any tips or suggestions would be helpful. Again I love you guys you’re so laid back and hysterical.
We love you too! Thank you for the kind words! We tendered at Mykonos, and then walked into Mykonos Town. This video begins right after we got off the tender. We did not do an excursion. We just started walking in a general direction and let it all unfold.
Santorini. We got off the tender, then paid for a water taxi over to Oia, via the port that is below Oia. Our fare included a bus ride up to Oia, as well as a bus ride back to Fira. We walked the donkey trail down to the tender, and caught the last boat back to the ship. I hope that helps. ~ Chris
Hi - I really appreciated your videos. They are totally unlike anyone else’s. On your Greek Isles trip did you book your flights and hotels in Italy on your own or in a package deal. Thinking of doing a similar trip in summer 2025 on my own - been on lots of cruises but never to Europe.
Thanks for your kind words! We booked everything separate. Typically we book our Cruise well in advance, in this case over a year out. We then watch airfare until we feel it’s a good deal, and finally the hotel. I think it’s important to book your hotel as early as you can before rooms start getting booked up.
