How to brush on Glazes

    I find it positive to allow each glaze coat to dry before the next coat. Most of the time.

    Hi Ian,
    Was this pot glazed raw, or was the pot bisque fired. It looks to me to be leather hard clay.

      From the sound of the brush against the pot it's bisque. You can also tell by the quick absorption of the first hand of glaze.

      NEVER apply glaze to raw clay. It has to be bisque fired.

    What would happen if only one or two coats were applied?

      It will be just fine. Every glazes are slightly different, I do mostly 2 coats and smooth them down.

      Nick Doe , I do use potter’s wheel for bigger pieces. I can easily adjust the height with banding wheel for smaller pieces with various height.
