I also take the 3rd guys lines as a metaphor for the people who end up in a dark head space when they drink as well they end up feeling all the things that hurt them way more bc they tried to self medicate with actually only made it so much worse. 💔✨ I remember trying to self medicate & everytime I did I just ended up in a deeper depression & worse mental state after.

To me, jellys message isn't necessary that specific types of people are the ones he can count on, or that he likes rock bottom or wants to be there.
I think you have to have a certain mind-set to get it.
It means the things people are afraid of, as in, anger, self hate, fear, chaos, loneliness, disappointment, insecurities, ect. Those things are always there, to a point that they seem normal.
also, when you you've spent so long at rock bottom, when you do become successful, it feels uncomfortable, foreign, terrifying,and so unfamiliar. So much so you that you sometimes wish to be back at rock bottom, just for the familiarity.
