  • A cold front with thick, ground level fog combined with an eastern shift in the track of Hurricane Eta over northern Florida forced a change in our travel plans at the conclusion of our mountain vacation. Rather than fly through potentially dangerous instrument meteorological conditions, the decision was made to proceed with a 10 hour drive back to Stuart, FL in borrowed car. The following weekend, when conditions had improved, the car was returned and we repositioned our plane back home in Stuart, FL.

Hello, I love your videos and I think your plane is gorgeous! I’m about to buy 1966 Piper Aztec PA-23-250C and I’d love to pick your brain about restoring and upgrading it.

Really enjoyed this one. Did those tip tanks say 54.3 gallons? How much total fuel can that thing carry? Love that panel too - thanks for sharing that!

Main outboard tanks are 54.3 (x2), inboard tanks hold 34.3 (x2) for a total of 177 gallons. Thanks for the comment and compliments on the panel!

@@DoubleDawgDare Ok... that's the late model set up for the turbo I think, right? I'm looking at an E model NA that has metco tip tanks and I think there is 192 gal total on board which is cool.

I've never seen a 192 gallon tank setup on an Aztec, but it sounds useful. Aztecs do like to drink quite a bit of fuel.

Might want to put that shoulder harness on for landing next time and set a good example for the young pups! 😜 Beautiful Aztec you have there!!
I’d like to see a walk through and descriptions of the equipment and upgrades you have there sometime, too, including that camera setup. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent point. The shoulder harness absolutely should be in place. Thank you for bringing it to our attention and expect it to be fixed in future videos.
Camera setup is evolving, but close to being finalized. Once we’re satisfied with the setup, we will get a walkthrough put together detailing cameras and upgrades to the plane.
Thank you for the comments and we hope you continue to enjoy the videos.

Excellent video all around. Great camera work and your panel is tops. Agree with earlier comment, like to see a tour of your Aztec (exterior too) in a future video. Your channel is going to do well.

Thank you for the kinds words, Dave. If you are interested in a tour/overview, I did a fairly lengthy review of the plane, the avionics, and the cameras in a previous video - Right after we got our first 100 subscribers. I'll link the video here for you:
