I hope you got planning permission for that, I'd hate to think the council will ask you to tear it down as it is (basically) a business address, where you have activities for generating revenue for your music business. I have some serious goals for my studio after watching this! :) I went from producing in my bedroom to converting the second bedroom to a studio after my roommate left. Now something like this is my next goal
Love the construction, I'm on headphones where I am because of neighbours, but deffo thinking of selling up and going a bit more rural so I can build something similar.

Nice. I'm lucky as I built my own studio at the end of my garden. The problem is it was too empty so I then had to buy loads more synths! Now I need a bigger studio lol.
Enjoyed the video - would definitely like a rig rundown in detail and what sacrifices or compromises you feel you have to make to end up with a manageable stage rig. When I play live, I try to pare it down to the essence of what the audience needs for the experience to be great for them AND me. Over the years some really cool stuff I used to drag along gets left behind. I also slim down the gig rig so my panic if I forget something is not too great or is substitutable, while also not being burdened by excessive redundancy either.

Hi Rachel, I wanna just give you a little advice for the planned 500er rack units. The powersupply is super important so you better get a better 500er rack than the Midas is because some 500er units are really power hungry. Buy a Wes Audio or Rupert Neve instead. I know they are expensive but you will not regret it to invest in a really good powersupply because that powersupply also plays a crucial role in terms of sound quality.
Great studio tour, I always like to watch your tours especially because you can immediately jump into showing us gear in action mode. ;) I think a video about your live setup would be cool.

I built a sit/stand custom music desk too. I'm surprised you didn't put your monitors on the desk so their height position follow your ears... I'm very jealous of all that space you have there, I'm sure it's very inspiring to have enough room for decoration... It looks like a detail, but it's a key component to good composition...

Congratulations on the new purpose built studio Rachel. I notice Sia the cat was on supervisory duties during the build and on a seat warming shift on the sofa afterwards. I've said it before but I'll say it again that you certainly have a great gift merging imagination and music creating and mixing sounds that most of us had never thought of. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. Oh and I still think making a track from sounds originally recorded from preparing a full English breakfast would be an interesting challenge.
