When it comes to Dan you can really say: Doing it by myself. He is such a hard worker and don’t pretend to do everything by himself when he doesn’t and source everything out. Just think about it, he is raising two wonderful boys, renovating a farmhouse, renovating a whole chateau and edits a video everyday. This is mind blowing what he is capable of achieving. My biggest respect.

It is also amazing what turns out when you trust a None-profit to take care of your place and it turns out to ruin. This is the first time in 50 years anyone steped up and repaired this abused and neglected place of refuge . After learning that the owner leased their place to a Non-profit company and when they got done left it in ruin . 200 Hundred Children has been saved and what happened when it was over . ? The House was left to ruin and neglect .

I would use this Mansion as a Room and Board for those that had been in that area and tell stories about what happened for the last forgotten 50 years that is not told . Loads of people would like to know why one of those 50 Children could not come forward and save this place of shelter and is now in a state of ruin .

What permissions do you need to renovate/rebuild in France, what's the process like, how long does it take, are you working with an architect, how much will the project cost etc etc. I have renovated a heritage house before in Australia but dream of doing one in France one day and would love for you to really get into the nitty gritty of the project beyond just the chores. To those who think Dan should now live in that room....No! No, he shouldn't! He's going to need real livable space. A place to rest and relax away from all the work. Would you want to put a cot or something in your office and live there?!

Elon Musk did that in Tesla. Hard work and determination is how European decendants dominate the world!

@@buildingwithtrees2258 The physical labor Dan does is at a whole different level from Elon sitting at a desk thinking sh*t up and tweeting about it. After a full day of back-breaking dirty work, you want a hot shower, a comfy chair to edit your video, and a nice bed in a heated room to get a good night's sleep. Dan works way harder than the average person. He's never idle.

If the dust doesn't creep in, and that's a big "If" ...& if it saves time and money. But like s.girl said ...there are no amenities or basic creature comforts ...yet.

Kindlydude, that’s a really good point about the dust. I think that Dan should live outside of the work site.
