Thanks, indeed the EL3585 a battery-powered capstan drive 3.5" open reel - in a time when everyone else was making rim drive. This was not originally mine - it was a gift from Kim's uncle. He had a few more museum pieces I was happy to receive.
As a Dutchman who lived in the US for about thirty years and is now temporarily back in Holland, I’m very impressed by how you recognize your own accents. I don’t hear my Dutch accent when I speak English and vice versa. Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming.

OMG!! Maarten when I was a boy a long time ago my grandfather bought me a phillips vertical tape recorder very like yours! It was like a kicking the stomach when I switched on your piece. The machine cost him a lot of money about a week spay I would say! I made a tape storage box in woodworking at school. The little mike was placed next to the tv (no sockets those days!) and parents not allowed to speak during Top of the Pops. Memories came back! My late dad left us when i was 7, and I later visited him quite a few times in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, staying at a nice hotel Witte Brugge in Lekkerkerk and I still have some blue on white pottery bought there. Thanks, after my parents divorced and my father returned to the Netherlands, he would send us recordings he'd made instead of letters using a similar recorder. I still have some of those little 8cm reels from the 1960s.

I think it’s crazy that camera companies aren’t sharing any gear or accessories for your reviews! Your videos have always been the most informative and detailed, specially settings and menu-options wise! In fact I’ve started noticing that younger RUclipsrs are paying more attention and doing a better job on this regard, which can reveal so much more about a camera than the typical feature/marketing material reading most others do. If I may suggest from my understanding of your background in professional video production, perhaps you could try approaching the “professional division” of the same brands, to do more videos on, say the Canon ‘C’ series, the Sony ‘FX’ series and so forth, as I don’t seem to see a lot of those around… And if they reply they don’t have anything new to offer, then review their current/older models as that will have the benefit of putting their products in front of the eyes of more potential customers, after they already surfed the crest of the promotional wave months or years ago… Hoping to see more of your videos soon, Andrés.

You continue to amaze. It's a little confusing when such subtle comedy is given away by a mere eyebrow. As someone who grew having to acquire Canadian as a second language (I was born in the UK), I get it. I'm reverting back to Brit, and Canadians are finding it harder and harder to understand me. I trust that once they invest in decent ear pieces, they'll understand me again.

Ah, there are funny people in the Netherlands, and I'm not even talking about myself!

I'm not sure if you were joking about aging people reverting to the language of their childhood... My parents are immigrants from 2 different countries. One has started throwing in words of their original language and making recipes from their home country. The other has started using mannerisms from their home country. Interesting...
So if it’s memories that you want to probe and there is a shortage of new cameras, why not partner with someone like Joan at Burlington Camera and do some retro reviews of classic film cameras by looking at them from a present day perspective, since with analog cameras anyway, everything old is be again? Your partner would have to be willing to loan you cameras and lenses to review.
