Unbelievable you hiked such long and meanwhile had to camp. But really it’s worthy. Very beautiful views and amazing mountains views, the lake looks so pretty ❤Very enjoyed watching, thanks for fabulous sharing 😍👍👍
Thank you so much for sharing this descent from katahdan! Few hikers show getting back down!! Your still shots and videos were amazing. I followed your entire journey … have to admit I had AT withdrawal once you finished.😂 Thanks again for carrying us along.
So thrilled to see one last video and hear your upbeat voice and to see your beautiful photography. Have never seen a video of the AT after the summit of Katahdin. Thank you again for sharing this amazing journey with your You Tube family. I will miss your daily postings.Best of luck in your future endeavors. HAPPY TRAILS!
Another great video, thank you for sharing your hike down Katahdin! I'm guessing Chunky was glad to see you and get back on the trail. Thru hike on the Foothills Trail is on my agenda for 2024. Would be cool if our paths crossed.
Chunky and my other two dogs were so happy to see me. They kept sniffing me almost like they didn’t believe it was me…I had showered several times before getting home so I didn’t stink lol. Let me know when you are doing the Foothills. I hike in the area a lot.
Hi Greyhound. So glad to see this video. I was curious to what the Saddle Trail looked like. Still pretty boulder filled for sure. That was such a good time getting to enjoy Katahdin and Baxter with you, Linda, Tonya and Zoby. Hope all is well and hope to see you sometime again in the near future!!
Saddle trail was a LOT easier than what you and Tonya did. You and Sue should come do the Foothills Trail or the Palmetto Trail with me or I could meet you to do some NC trails.
Just loved watching your adventure. Really can see and appreciate your eye for photography. Thanks for the efforts. If you plan on publishing a coffee table book, let me know.
JoAnne‼️Oh it's great to get another video from you‼️I think about your fantastic journey every now and then..been wondering if you are OK or if you have the post trail blues. You know, you really did a fabulous job with your videos and pictures...they were the best collection of any through hiker that I have ever followed over the years. You have a real eye for beauty! Thanks for all the hard work you put in. Maybe one day, I will bump into you on the trail as I live in the upstate of SC too! Thanks again for letting us follow. Best of luck and God Bless you!
Thank you so much! I have been good. Miss being out in the woods but I don’t think I really have the blues. Just have been really tired. Still going out on day hikes a couple times a week and going for runs with the dogs between. Hope to see you on the trail.
Thank you again so much for sharing your journey! It has been beautiful to see! Hopeful to have courage like this someday. My fear is the Bears and being surprised at night especially in the tent 😅. What's next Greyhound?!! Again, Congratulations 🎉❤
Thank you! For longer trails planning to hike the Foothills Trail and Palmetto Trails again. I was nervous at first alone in my tent too. I did several backpacking trips before I started the AT to gain confidence.
How do you like it? Mine is still going strong. Only one small hole from all the cliff climbing at the end. The rocks wore a small hole in the water bottle pocket. I sewed it up and it is invisible now. The rest of the pack looks nearly new. A lot of other packs were in tatters or had to be replaced on trail. Really pleased with the Kakwa.
Just yesterday I was wondering what you were doing, and here you are! That lake is beautiful, what a grwat place for a relaxing paddle. Even if you didn’t see any moose. You could try a section of the IAT up in Newfoundland. There are so many moose up there you're pretty much guaranteed to see at least a dozen or so 😉😁
@@hikingmovie both beautiful provinces! PEI has a trail that goes all the way around the island. It's relatively new, but looks amazing and you can camp pretty much anywhere along the way.
Those lakes in Maine are just so stunning. Thanks for doing this video, because often we don't see what people do just after completing the trail. Some of them are probably kinda sick of filming by then, haha.
Thanks for watching! Yes, taking it easy and resting for the last month. It is nice to be home. I have been doing some local day hikes a couple of times a week with the dogs.
Love this! Any thoughts on gear video, favorite spots video or even a whats next? Im in the upstate also, if you do any small group hikes I would love to join.
Joanne, how long did you spend at the top of K before you started back down the mountain? BTW I have so enjoyed being able to go along with you. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
It was really cold and windy at the top. We took pictures, cheered some other hikers, ate lunch and headed down. Maybe a half hour but it would have been fun to stay up there longer and watch people finish. It is a good thing we left when we did. We got back just before dark and Tonya and Stan took even longer on the harder route.
Living in central PA a flip flop seems most logical. Was colder weather with more gear harder than warmer weather with carrying more water? Did you try both before you made your plans?
Yes I hiked around a 1000 miles in SC in all seasons last year to get ready for my hike. We had the polar vortex come through, so I was able to test my gear in single digit temps in my backyard. Hot weather is more challenging for me than cold. Heat just makes me feel sick and I was lucky to have a cool year this year. Some people do flip up farther north when it starts getting hot and come back to the hot areas in the fall. I carried about the same weight both seasons. In the winter it was extra clothes, and by Summer I was hungry and needed to carry extra food and more water, but fewer clothes. A flip flop was always on option if I needed to do it. A lot of people that started out with me Northbound ended up passing me SOBO because they decided to flip up to Katahdin due to weather or time.
I'm not sure how i missed all these new videos i get to watch 😊. I can't wait to catch up now. Baxter State Park is truly stunning!
Thank you for sharing this video and all the videos from your amazing journey.
Thank you!
Good job, good video with lots of good beautiful views, no moose 😢, so let's keep on hiking 😊
lol was wondering what your comment would be. Still hiking a couple of times a week.
It’s nice to see you again. Those are some lovely shots of Baxter State Park. Thanks for sharing.

Your videos are spectacular and you are amazing! You had to deal with all that rain in the Northeast, geez. Thanks for sharing.

Nice way to celebrate by enjoying a day in Baxter Park and doing some canoeing.
Thanks, it was a really nice relaxing day.
Thanks for sharing! Baxter State Park is breathtakingly beautiful. Hope you’ll do some post trail gear videos!
@flowerpower1980 I will definitely do that.
@@hikingmovie thanks so much! You’re the reason I have the Kakwa 55!

@@hikingmovie It's looking unlikely because of family holiday plans. But there is still an outside chance.

Definitely will do a gear video or two. I switched out a lot of stuff during the trip. I have already picked up a few new pieces of gear too.
Yay! So happy to see another hiking video from you! Congratulations on your accomplishment, Joanne! 🥾🥾😎
