Great in depth video again, she threw up a gremlin or two! Glad the speakers came in useful, great to see another survivor. Top job.. happy listening 🎶
Another Great Video James, I Have just purchased one of these units. Used one back in the day for home-taping. Ordered belts from Deck Tech and they came the very next day. Thanks for the recommendation.
Yes, this really gives back to electronic repair community. And of coarse people watching for entertainment. Too bad the factory can't use some hobby shop bright colored paint in certain cases on the part and on the wire so in 1 glance could see there a match. Nice job! Way to stay with it, getting the right height capacitor. Lots of things take 3 tries. I remember when I was 15 I was working on a 55 Pontiac with either a 317 or 348ci. V8. Somebody had the cams mixed up between to 2 similar engines. Once I got the correct cam in, all I had to do was learn to do the timing chain marks correct for my 1st time. It involved front motor mounts, radiator out & in & ect. I guess I kept getting the notch just 1 off . then I had to go back thru it all again took 3 times till I realized I needed to look real close even if involved using a straight edge. I'm sure learning electronic repair I'll be on certain projects like this 1962 bk &wh Tv maybe for a year or if I ever get done at all.
Cpc and Semtech1 is where i get my caps from same panasonics ones, them light purple caps always leak and its good to replace them as i do with my boomboxes when i restore them, i also use ink for the speakers to bring them back to black with a light brush stick them infront of a fan so they dry quickly and edge sealer from simply speakers on the surrounds, great video!
I used to use CPC a lot more than I do now - it's only worth it these days if I'm making a big order to get over the handling charges (and capacitor stock has been spotty for years). Thanks for the tip on the edge sealer!
Yea i use cpc to fill up my stock on capacitors then if i only need a few i use Semtech1, the edge sleaer is great for paper surrounds makes them look like new and protects them also works on foam surrounds, i see you are not to far from me as i am in leicester, wondering if you do Alignment on valve radio's i have a blaupunkt Blue Spot that i have restored, the ferrite cores were lose that i was not aware untill the bass from the speaker had unwound them out, i scewed them back in to where there was good reception and filled them with wax, thanks Raj@@jamesbennettmusic
it's difficult to find exact matches these days unless pulled from a scrap machine. The swivel joint bit (that bolts to the machine) is often a lot thinner on new antennas - I've found it's best to find a new antenna on ebay that's close enough on the actual aerial part itself, then swap it onto the original swivel joint. You have to be careful not to lose the little copper washers
The BLK 6 vs BLK 5 thing would drive me insane hahaha

I don't do radio alignments unfortunately, don't have the room or the budget for the RF kit! @@rajvindermanku825
any idea where i can find a new antenna for these?
