My late dad (R.I.P. Dad) loved these mountains and towards the end of his life we drove up from Warwickshire to stand in awe of their majesty. It was a magical experience I shall never forget.......
Very exceptional. Outstanding filming - & all the better for not adding unneccesary noise pollution / soundtrack. The silence is as awesome as the scenery. Well done for letting nature do the speaking.
I have walked the whole ridge (1995), and did not find it too difficult. However looking at this I must have been crazy. Suilven is my favourite peak in Scotland (and I am a Munroist). Superb video.
Walked this Assynt jewel twice: Once in perfect weather and solo in low cloud , zero visibility. Not yet walked to 'sharp' end, but still time yet. My favourite hill walk in a fantastic location. A superb video - thanks :-)
Brilliant, thanks! I’ve seen a couple of these magnificent drone “flyovers” and they still amaze me. I’ve been up the higher/larger NW peak but your wide angle lens makes the SE peak look so impressive, I’m tempted to go back for it.
Wow, absolutely amazing! Great footage of a wonderful piece of geology. Scotland is so so beautiful. Your films let us see just how breathtaking our landscapes really are. Thanks for sharing it. I've got a better idea of its shape now. I've decided I might try and go on a guided walk to and up Suilven if I'm lucky with the weather. What a beautiful day you had for it! I was camping at Achmelvich last year and totally fell in love with the place. I could see Suilven in the distance and I felt drawn to it and have wanted to climb it ever since!
thank you... I did it back in the 90's when hardly anyone climbed it..... the erosion of the climb up is tricky but I would advise walking sticks if you have them, just better stability. It was roasting up there.... got burnt on the walk back, hope you have a clear day for it :)
I have had a look on the drone and it just says 4K. Sorry, I cant help you any further, I have had it years and the box, information and jargon are long gone.
Could any geologist type tell me what kind of mountain this is or how it was formed? It looks volcanic from where 2 plates pushed up but I'm just guessing from what I see. Cool video btw.

Fabulous, what focal length is the lens on your drone, going up with my camera so just wondering how wide is needed, spectacular scenery
Thank you :) I use a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone
The Great Outdoors by Drone I was just wondering the field of view on your lens
I have had a look on the drone and it just says 4K. Sorry, I cant help you any further, I have had it years and the box, information and jargon are long gone.

Thank you, I think its just sedimentary sand/grit stone and it was eroded by glaciers.
@@The-Great-Outdoors Cheers. That makes more sense now that you mention it :P

The Life and Death of a Certain K. Zabriskie, Patriarch" by Chris Zabriskie ....... audio track
@@The-Great-Outdoors awesome thanks for sharing, really appreciated, hard to know which came first , the mountain or the music. both lovely.
Thank you :)
Do people circumambulate Suilven as a fiscally reasonable alternative to Kailas?
Fantastic film! And love that music too, it gets very well with the vid.
What kind of drone were you using?
DJI Phantom 3
thank you :)
Hi Mark. Is that you on top walking on the left of the screen? I find myself looking for you controlling the drone. Lol
Ya, that's me lol.....
