Helps to have a good bowling ball manufacturer for support, room with an experienced PBA bowler that can be your mentor, communicate with top local bowler who can explain the bowling alley's characteristics.
That pep talk at the end of the vlog is the definition of why I've always dreamed of being a pro. Listening to you guys laugh off the bad, and look forward to the next tournament is so inspiring. I remember feeling the same way that Kyle did at a recent tournament. Kyle shot below a 130 that day? I averaged below 130 that tournament. They were toooooough, and I didn't realized what I should have done until after I left. I was so angry that I almost stopped going to tournaments entirely. And then I calmed down, and have averaged 670 in league ever since. Thank you guys for doing what you do out there, inspiring me and many others like me.
I love the vulnerability that was shown in this vlog. "Bowling makes you work on yourself" No truer words spoken. I'll sit thru one of these vlogs every time. Thanks guys. Keep grinding - you've got mad support out here.
I think it’s commendable that you guys post all the ups and downs. I’ve only been back to Bowling for two years and I’m just trying to get better and better every chance I get. Shot my first 300 last weekend, and thanks to you guys for putting out the content that you do has help me improve my game, both mentally and physically. Keep up the great work!! #keepgrinding
I just had a rough tournament this past weekend so I appreciate hearing the pep talk and words of encouragement towards the end of the vlog. You two are the reason I go out there and try at all, so thank you for the motivation and for being positive role models!
What I like about your channel and the others also (the house) is you tell it like it is, frustrations and all and for me a lifetime Amateur (62 years worth) I can relate to your issues-frustrations instead of seeing 300s or the like all the time. I enjoy all of you so just don't change. In all my years I've been lucky at times and have been fortunate and at now at 80 i'm still bowling not like I used to but still enjoying and also enjoying your videos along with the House. Like i said don't ever change this is what to me is so enjoyable.....Peace out
You guys rock! Remember...channel that anger into XXXXXXXXXXXX! Most of us if not all of us wish we could have your jobs! My 31 year old son and I bowled today even....I averaged 196...that's up from 156 in my league days 25 years ago! Keep up the great work and most of all...HAVE FUN!
I love the honesty at the end. Im sure there’s a lot of us that can relate to the struggle. Sucks you guys didn’t bowl to your expectations but I love that fire in the belly. Keep on going guys and don’t stop.
Hey Kyle, everyone has bad games. Still feel for Daugherty when he bowled the 100 on TV and lost by almost 200 pins to Mika, although he took it like a champ and even made fun of himself. Even has made a pretty good pro career going forward from that low point.
Watch Brad at 8:00 throwing the Nova. He stayed down and throw that shot much better. Been seeing him stay up out of allot of shots this season. That was a good one.
In professional poker, most pro's fold probably 95+% of the hands they are dealt, and we typically only see the big pots they get involved in on TV. It's tough to showcase your careers when you know that most of the time, you're going to miss a stepladder, or even a cash cut, but doing it shows just how difficult it is to win on tour. Without the vlogs, we would only see your successes. I appreciate seeing it from behind the curtain, because it's real and gritty. Keep at it guys.
After watching this video, I don't feel so bad about my terrible performance last night at league. Thanks guys for giving a better bowling perspective...may the strikes be with you!!!😉🤙
Thank you for the honest look at the PBA journey. I suspect you two missed the training time bowling against each other last fall and the edge is a bit dull. Now you are trying to get it back in the middle of the tour. There is not a lot of room to get it back with this bunch of competitors. The beat goes on, you are giving us great content, and always take the time you need to process an unexpected result. You have a bunch of us investing into what you bring to the bowling community, you are really successful in expanding the view of what pro bowling is all about. Lessons learned, move forward, go get em.
At the Baltimore open ( Lumber Liquidators) about 25 years ago, I've seen a 98 in qualifying. I'm not going to mention his name but I will say he's amazing at horseshoes.
Appreciate you both taking us through the good times and not so good. Still Cheering you both on from Oahu, HI and hope you guys can come out for our Regionals the Summer. Aloha!
Guppy Troup had a 92 one game. I just read that in a story by Frank Deford for Sports Illustrated in 1988. The tournament was at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace around Thanksgiving in 1987. Marshall Holman got so mad, he threw a ball against the wall.
Not gonna lie, but its nice to hear from pros having it rough cuz when us amateurs are having a rough go it feels like we never get out. Just bowled my association tournament last Thursday, bowled a 242 210 and then a 138! felt awful! but its refreshing to know that even the pros find struggles in their games. But Kyle will figure it out i know this
I see this vlog post like this was a learning experience for y’all. Idc how well I do but it’ll still be an honor to bowl on the same pairs as y’all in a tournament. Keep going on this upward trend and get yourselves ready for the TOC!
You guys are doing well grinding it out and being honest with how hard it is to make it as a professional bowler. Brad, your time to win a PBA tour title is soon. Praying for you guys.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate that semi pro. To pro pro. Have there ups and downs. And bowl 100 games wow. I've learned a lot from you guys. Thanks again.
I watch EJ Tackett shoot 133 at the US Open in 2020. I took a picture just as a reminder to myself.that even the best in the world have bad and frustrating games.
I know how you feel Kyle. In my 49 years of bowling in an adult league,I started 2023 with a whopping 118. (my lowest adult score forever),only to come back with a 204 and a 198. Keep the faith and score big.
Take this for what it is worth! Just bowl and have fun. Maybe you are over-thinking lane patterns, balls, technique. Relax and let it happen. Concentrate on what you are trying to do!
So the real question everyone wants to know concerning Brad is simply this....."Why the hell do you throw any other ball than the Nova?" lol Drill like 5 of them all different ways and different surfaces. You kill it with that ball almost every time!
During that exchange I thought of an old attempt to change something..., holding the ball slightly higher or lower, before 'push-away'. Could alter speed for sure. Hope your ball reps fix you up with the proper equipment, that gets you into tv finals~~!
Kyle, Sometimes you have to have those crap games in order to truly appreciate the good ones. Yea, I know it's a line of crap, but it is so often true. I always wanted to go pro as a teen, met my future wife and pretty much quit. The game has changed so much that I can't begin to even understand all the jargon you guys use. I still admire the classic swing like yours, Brad's and Kris's. I love watching you guys. Keep the comeback going. A win is just around the corner.
I agree with you, no splits will definitely get you into the money round. Are your splits pocket splits? If splits are from a bad approach, why, fellow bowler leaving foreign material on the approach, powder bag residue, saliva on shoe, you're going back on the carpet, if a senior bowler's nose dripping from taking water pill, etc. Or you had a bad approach, pulling back at fault line, missing your target, bad follow through, shirt tucked into your pants too tight, (Tommy Jones always has shirt out of pants) socks are slipping inside bowling shoes, wrong sole on bowling shoes, pants bind around your knee, etc. have to be corrected if you expect to bowl 250+ games. I noticed on someone's video that the ball rep was sanding a bowling ball on the ball return during practice. Does this residue from sanding down a bowling ball get on the bowler's shoes inadvertently? Do one colored bowling balls win most PBA tournaments? YOU DON"T CHECK YOUR SLIDING SOLE BEFORE EVERY SHOT?
That's easy to figure out. Just strike more🤣🤣 Sometimes I crack myself up. Sometimes you just split and there's not thing one that works. Chock it up to experience and go again. Good luck
Brad, I've noticed sometimes when you get to the line, you kinda pop up with your follow through and other times you stay down and more balanced at the line. Not sure if that is by design or something you are aware of, just figured I would point it out. You guys are great, keep up these videos. I really enjoy them. Good luck and good bowling.
I shot a 118 in league, my worst game this year by 40 pins. Didn't notice what I ate for lunch had a boatload of sodium, thumb swelled up so much none of my balls fit...
"If you're gonna come out here, you better be pretty good at it" Great line, Brad!
"You can put dirt on the lanes and they'll find a line." another good one.
@@daverosinski3663 yes! And it’s 100% true. These guys are next level
Don't cry pro bowlers that's bowling

It's okay I feel your pain! Just came back from Nationals in Reno, first game in singles I go 256, second game I managed 127! 😆
I hate that shit! I call it "blowing your wad" lol

Richie is funny. "I did that too, its really annoying". That made me crack up for some reason the way he said it.
This was excellent gentlemen! You both are truly inspiring - don’t give up, don’t EVER give up!
Sorry my bad bowling has rubbed off on you guys. Thanks for keeping us positive!
Listening to the vlog content in person is something else because Brad just does it in one take
Just saw Brad made it in the TOC great last game Brad! Good luck to you guys this week!

love the REAL talk stuff, just as much as watching you bowl
Thank you for sharing all aspects of the experience - We've all had days like that - Sharing what you know and living it - Just Awesome

I pretty much did the same thing 3-weeks ago: went 118...then went 259, 224 - finished plus-one.😆
Hoping to see you guys in Kokomo in a couple of weeks! I just signed up to do the pro-am on the 21st!
