Idk the game looks real fun. It’s not even the game we were told we’re getting. It’s basically a stopgate until Gen 8 and it also is getting the casual audience into main core titles while also selling more switches. Like I get the hate for the game, but besides the catching of the Pokémon, it seems like a regular traditional Pokémon game.

The main games have always been accessible to casuals so I don't know why they felt they had to simplify it further.

Yes, this is a Kanto game. Specifically, in the style of Pokemon Yellow. And there will be quite a few anime characters in it.
And yes, that special Pokemon mentioned at the end IS a brand-new Pokemon. Maybe we'll see it first in the upcoming movie (which features a Pikachu and an Eevee, too)?

I will play this so much with my son (3,5 yo atm). And my wife, she loves the OG Pokemon and GO but doesn't play anything anymore. I am going to use this to lure her back to the sweet embrace of papa Nintendo.

It's a neat touch that you can dress up Pikachu/Eevee and see their outfits in battle. Also, seeing your pokémon following you around, and potentially be able to ride some of them is pretty awesome. I wonder though if, for the 2019 core game, they might actually implement said features.

I don't know why some people are upset about no wild battles. Catching Pokemon is just RNG anyway. I actually hope that and the overworld Pokemon are in the 2019 game too.

You're almost me but in a girl version. Also been playing EVERY single Pokémon game since Red (when it came out). As a competitive player, part of me is a bit salty with the GO thingy, but I liked it anyways. Gonna give this game a try. Eevee version please, I'm tired of Pikachu xD

Yay! Another Team Eevee member! This reaction was funny with some good skepticism. Well this game is feels like it's targeted for their casual audience, so I can see kids loving something this. It's like having your own little virtual pet you know?
KidEDarus Casual players will find the main games accessible already. There's no need to simplify it further.
I don't understand the problem with removing wild pokemon battles. With this it's not random, no surprise encounters, don't need 50 million repels to get through an area, & no more false swiping/T-wave then spamming the A button until they stay in the ball. Am I missing something?

surely there is a way to battle wild pokemon, otherwise all levelling would have to come from battling trainers and there arent enough of them haha.
If this was the case they'd add better balancing so you earn enough experience from trainers. Also it looks like you earn experience from catching but I could be wrong.
Snyd its possible that npc's will get stronger and battle again I guess, they did it before. It could even be the case that ypu can choose to battle or catch wild, or maybe there are random encounters and the visible ones are "special" aggresive pokemon like in the last game
