I like how kong isn’t always just like an immortal monster that shows no pain. When they shoot at him he clearly whimpers and tries to cover his body with his arm. And when he gets hit by the helicopter blade at 1:27 he squeals and lets go when he starts bleeding
Well I mean that’s a big theme in this movie, the hubris of man and our unwillingness to make peace. Constantly it’s shown throughout the monsterverse that when humans try to control nature, it always backfires spectacularly, and nature has to correct itself. The most humans can do is help nature, but they can never control it. That’s their folly. In Kong: Skull Island in particular, a big theme is war and being unable to leave it. Jackson’s character, Packard is the embodiment of this, he can’t accept that he lost the Vietnam war and he hates that America had to pull out in disgrace. as such Skull Island is like a microcosm of that for him and he’s unable to leave, needing to win against his perceived enemy no matter the cost. He’s so hell bent on this he’s even willing to go to war with nature herself (personified by Kong) which never turns out well. John C. Riley’s character, Marlow is the opposite of this mindset, he came to Skull Island fighting a war and ended up becoming friends with his enemy, living in peace with him. Now he just wants to get home to his family and live a normal life. The movie’s centered around this idea that if you aren’t willing to let go of your anger you’ll just end up hurting yourself and everyone around you. The only way to live is to move on and look towards a better future. All this to say, yeah it’s dumb that they saw Kong and immediately tried to pick a fight with him, but that’s kinda the point.

I love how right from the get go, they show us that this Kong is a different breed compared to his past incarnations. Kong was always killed by helicopters with the exemption of the Showa film. This one however was recking havoc to the choppers and smartly outmaneuvered them
Even better. Every so often when Kong show up, you see his sizes mostly that of a tall tree (with the sole exception of Showa Kong). But seeing Kong rising up to cover a sunset shows that this Kong possibly is and will always be the biggest Kong. And he still has time to grow.
Anyone else notice the lack of brown fur in later kong appearances in the monsterverse? Like don't get me wrong it makes sense he ages but man ngl i miss the brown haired kong
The editing in this is off the charts. The detail shots..like the bullets bouncing around in the helicopter..I was knocked out by the film. One monster fight too many, but I had to look up the director. What a talent. Outta nowhere. Think about it..most of us get together with other people and do nothing. These guys make this. I thought this sequence had the bullet casings bouncing around on the floor of the choppers..a sweet touch.

Randy kong
Kongman Reigns. Hello there WWE fan.
Roman Empire or Anthony Pettis (ufc fighter) no one does a superman punch like pettis
UUUUUU AAAAAAAA *SPEAR*
Just like what he did to Godzilla in leaked footage.
2:29 Is My Favorite Part. Take A Guess Why.
"RUN TO THE SIDE YOU IDIOT!!!"
Guy doesn't listen and frickin dies
@@agentw.3413 He Said What We're All Thinking!
You guys notice the guy who gets away gets hella speed all of a sudden they definitely fast forwarded him too much 😂
Because, he says what everyone watching is saying. Even if you die afterwards, you live a lot longer than the dumbass running straight forward.
0:02 Is Amazing When He Rise Up
1:59 I can't wait to see him running like this toward Godzilla in "GvK"
So....we're just gonna ignore how perfect that Superman punch was at 1:16?
Acknowledge him 🔥🔥🔥
1:15 Even King Kong acknowledges the Tribal Chief 🔥🔥☝🏾☝🏾☝🏾
For fuck sake 😂😂😂😂
It's hard to believe that this kong is much smaller than the current
The quality is so good its looks like a 4K game
3:00 How I feel being stuck at home.
I like how kong isn’t always just like an immortal monster that shows no pain. When they shoot at him he clearly whimpers and tries to cover his body with his arm. And when he gets hit by the helicopter blade at 1:27 he squeals and lets go when he starts bleeding
his face at that moment was like "the fck was that!?"
What were they thinking?? Of course, he's gonna fight back lmao. These movies i swear
Let's all fly toward the giant ape. And when it starts taking us out like flies let's not get the hell out of there.....
Very smart
@@jonathanjoestarwithpluck4930 you gave me a different perspective towards the movie holy
0:59 Samuel L Jackson: Fire at will!
Kong: MY NAME IS NOT WILL!
Finally, someone gave Kong a bulletproof vest.

I’m pretty sure they were flying at a sideways angle to face Kong.

Did u just call samual l jackson monkey? 😂
I love how Samuel Jackson is just staring at King Kong from 4:00 onward and we all know what he is thinking.
*“You MOTHERFUCKA”*
Not quite complete....'You Bad Motherfucka' shortly before popping a cap in his ass!!!!
*Ain't that a bitch* lol
I love how right from the get go, they show us that this Kong is a different breed compared to his past incarnations. Kong was always killed by helicopters with the exemption of the Showa film. This one however was recking havoc to the choppers and smartly outmaneuvered them
He very quickly figured out what a chopper was and figured out what their weakness was and how to exploit it
Even better.
Every so often when Kong show up, you see his sizes mostly that of a tall tree (with the sole exception of Showa Kong). But seeing Kong rising up to cover a sunset shows that this Kong possibly is and will always be the biggest Kong. And he still has time to grow.
That's largely due to the fact that he's been cornered on the top of a building

Anyone else notice the lack of brown fur in later kong appearances in the monsterverse? Like don't get me wrong it makes sense he ages but man ngl i miss the brown haired kong
So Is He Having Black Fur Like His Previous Incarnations
It’s inspired by other apes.
Happens to gorilla males
This movie is underrated masterpiece. Tbf they fired first
1:26 Kong probably like "What the hell, flying insects hurting me ?!?!?"
3:46 Kong be like in this shot "Die mosquito!"
@@slam-ittthehedgehog8723 I understood that reference! 💙
Even after all four films, this scene is by far the most intense out of the Monsterverse
It's like me fighting all the mosquitoes in my room
The VFX and CG was mind blowing hats off to the director and CG Artist's
4:01 when your father destroys your ps4 for playing fortnight allday!
Kong: I destroy Helicopters!!
Godzilla: I destroy Darkness!!
Gipsy Avenger: Hold my beer.
