A little problem with the size of my feet... size 39 feels narrow while size 40 feels loose... Finally this video solves the mystery that I've been feeling... what a great hack... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sorry too ask but do anyone have a suggestion. I would also like to attach a new pair of foot pockets on my Finis Shooter mono fins. I have two sets different sizes of Finis Shooter mono fin xl and xxl. I have trouble with getting it fitting my feet. One , the xl is to tight over my toes on the top and too the sides in front of the foot pockets. The other, xxl was a bit big so I went too a diver shop here in Norway ( Oslo) and bought neoprene socks . We tried it out wobbling my foot with the Finis mono fin on. They said it was ok . The same day I went swimming in the swimming pool looking forward to train my dolphin kick for 1000 meters. After 50 meters it was broken in the middle and on the right side of the foot pockets. When I came home to inspect why it so easily got broken, I see there are far too little glue between the fiberglass and the foot pockets. There were big areas with no glue at all, and this made it very weak . I already read and see some pictures in a comment section on Amazon that a man had help from a diver store changing for new foot pockets when the same happened too his Finis Shooter mono fins size XXL. The other option that I also saw was a video from a diver store who used a heating gun to adjust the foot pockets…. But the problem is that the foot pockets are not only tight on the top of the toes. It’s also tight too the side where the foot pockets are more massive and not so likely too be stretched ? 🤔 . Therefore maybe the only solution is to by new foot pockets and hope I can find a diver store that can glue ( glue and screw) them on the fiberglass. I really like too train dolphin kicks in order to fix some problems I have with my core muscles 🙏🏻😊 Do anyone of you have some advice’s? Please 🙏🏻🤔
I have had my Sporasub H Dessault fins for more then 20 years, they fit snug, and the blades is screwed into place no need for any glue (its hard to fit them though when I have taken them appart to fit my suitcase when traveling. no need for glue, has the fins changed a lot over the two last decades?
they go a long way in to the back of the foot, longer than regular carbons, it takes some effort to get them there, they don't come off easy even without been glued, I would say you could fin with these with no glue at all a d won't come off unless something pulls hard the fin out and work it a bit side to side in the way out.
And with screws if they break when you are down on a dive because they are weaker and crack easier, it could be a fatal mistake. Take your pick. Just stay in the swimming pool if you are worried about things like this.
@@castandspear I have pathos fireblade with xt diving blades on, so my Experience is only with them: 1. I took a hair dryer stock it into the foot pocket and wrapped a towel around the foot pocket, so the air doesnt blow out of the fron of the pocket. BUT kept the air intake free from the towel. 2. Then i blow warm air into the footpocket for a couple of minuts, check to see if the rubber is getting soft. When its soft, but your foot With your neopren sock on in the foot pocket and wait for it to cool. 3. maybe repeat This makes a world of difference to the feel of the footpocket. Warning! Do this at your own risk. I'm not responsible for what might happen to your foot pocket.
Seems to me, that the chemical reaction of the super glue would eat away at the rubber of the foot pocket, and destroy the Resin of the carbon fiber or fiber glass fins. Super glue is super corrosive, so why would you ruin a perfectly good foot pocket and fin?
The rail of soft plastic on the sides of my Cressi fins, that conducts water to the tip of the fin, started to peel off. Do you have a hack for repairing that? Any tips would be so helpful. Thank for sharing (:
If you have bad ankles, 33⁰ is a godsend. I literally cannot use standard fins due to my hemophilia ruining my joints, large angles allow for us less fortunate to freedive more enjoyably :)
WANT THESE FINS?
1. CETMA Prana & S-Wing Footpockets: bit.ly/cetmafins

Video turned out great dude. Stoked to see the knowledge passed around
Thanks for showing the way!

Great to have that kind of help to set you up for max propulsion👍🏼
Absolutely!
very helpful. My fins are a bit too tight. Maybe, i should try this
Definitely!
Can you share which glue is it ?
I thought it was super glue. Epoxy or gorilla glue might work, but I’m not positive
Hello brother! I have the same fins but the foot pocket fvcks up the back of my feet around the achilles tendon area. Do you know any remedy?
If you need to adjust foot pocket as slightly too tight and fin has already been glued, is it ok to heat the pocket with fin glued in?
Shouldn’t be a problem if you stay away from heating the glue joint. Shoot Spear America a call to get their advice as well. Good luck!
Can you research the exact glue recommended? thanks for the vid
Regular super glue works well.
@@castandspear Thanks for the quick reply ....hmm hard to believe. Gel I'm assuming?
My foot pocket is a bit tight if I do this will it stretch it to fit my foot ?

I’d say the freediving fins have changed quite a bit
@@castandspear to the better?
Ya
@@castandspear maybe I should get a new pair then, since I have not changed to the better it might even it out 😁
I have a one for more 30 years! Top best Fins! Blue Blades white Black foot pocket!
Bravo
With glue if the seam fails when you are down on a dive and your blade comes off it could be a fatal mistake. I never trust glue personally.
What do you guess the probability of that happening is?

That ain't happening believe me

What do you think grease is made from? Even if no glue anything can fail
Bro! Super cool video - challenged some traditional ideas:) I've sent this to my main man Larry at Penetrator for his thoughts. Thanks for sharing Jon
Thanks for checking it out Shrek!
I did that 4 years ago to my pathos footpocket,, thought it was general knowledge. Should have made a video about it.
Ya! Share more of your tips 😀

Awesome! I love the disclaimer at the end 😂

😄
Will this shrink it to your foot too?
It’ll expand it based on your foot. Better to start with a tighter pocket and loosen it
@@castandspear would a full size down be ok?
but harder to travel / fly with the fins if you can't take them apart...
I just put them in my sport tube with all my other gear.
Thanks!!!

I’m over here extending my fins with du k tape and straws
If it works it works

Those foot pockets look to big
Se usavi una scarpetta della taglia corretta potevi evitarti questo sbattimento. La scarpetta è troppo grande per quel piede
😂 oh no
Angle 33° is too much. 24-26° will be perfect
That big angle makes a change from night to day if you swim long distances for 3+ hours, specially when you are not spring chicken

Your bad person remove you fins simbol
