- This was our first attempt at a Pug Cake.
Thanks to hubby he carved and torted it beautifully.
The arms and feet were made using cake and cream mixture.
The wrinkles can be a bit tricky so once you’ve placed them on the face and body test it out by rolling out a small piece of fondant and place it over the face. I wasn’t happy with my first wrinkles when I checked so I re positioned them and tried again.
Once happy I mixed brown and a hint of yellow in my fondant and covered the cake.
For the wrinkles I dusted sugar flair dusts Brown and a tiny bit of black.
To make the eyes and nose look shiny I used piping gel.

Great tutorial! Do you remember what sized cakes you used? And how many ppl it catered?
Thank you. I baked a 12"x10" cake for carving. This cake served roughly around 12 people.
Love it, where can I get the templates please?
The templates were hand drawn.
Also how did you make the legs?
The arms and legs were made from a sponge and buttercream mixture
