Everyone always focuses on Henning's voice so much (and rightfully so!), but Christopher (Annen - the guitarist) and Severin (Kantereit - the drummer) are fukin top tier musicians. Henning's voice really makes them stand out, but they would not be as successful as they are without Christopher and Severin's musical talent. And Henning's too, of course. All three of them can play so many instruments and they can play them really really well. I remember seeing an interview with Henning a while back and he said that he thinks his lyrics aren't all that (I'm paraphrasing), but he was basically saying that his lyrics are nothing without the music that accompanies them. I don't completely agree with that because I think his lyrics are powerful, but it's like even he's acknowledging the huge role that the instrumentation plays in the quality of their music. I don't think there's another human voice on earth that I love more than Henning's, but I do kinda wish people shouted out Christopher and Severin more. Not that you haven't! Just in general, ya kno :)
not sure if anybody told you that yet, but they started out as street musicians, so standing just somewhere on the street in public and making music is absolutely their thing. that's also one of the reasons why Henning's voice is that strong. he had to sing over street noises and other people ever since they started. there's also a "Kölsch" (German dialect) version of this song where you can see at the end that a group of people is watching them. the guy playing guitar and singing is Christopher Annen (so you were right about the Annen part 😊)

His voice is different because you've been reacting to their songs here and there - they have been doing music for 10 years, and naturally his voice has matured a lot. I love their new music, for example you've reacted to "Lass es kreisen" & "Ausgehen" from their latest album, but the old ones (like "Pocahontas") are good, too -maybe a bit more punk/rock/folk type of songs, reminding me of the street musician background.
Recommend “21 22 23” is a good one- Henning wrote about growing up, the years going by. ♥️♥️♥️
There is a version from this song in their "Proberaum session" too - that is also absolutely great
I'd recommend "Vielleicht Vielleicht" and "Nicht nicht", "Es geht mir gut" and "Mir wär lieber du weinst"! So so good! For the last 3, I do prefer the studio version rather than the live version, but both are great! The studio versions are also here on youtube. Thanks for your reactions!😊
