I grew up in Clearwater. There are places to park if you know where. Never had a problem finding free parking.

Thanks for the video! I'm in Lakeland and like to go different places so I decided to check out Clearwater; it's not that far. I checked out restaurants online for quite some time until I picked on and even decided on what I was going to have. Drove to Clearwater and did not know to bring jewelry to hock in exchange for a parking space. I went there specifically to go to that particular restaurant (I don't remember the name now) and found I couldn't park anywhere for less than $35.
Had I been a car full of people that wanted to make a day of it at the beach with lunch and dinner, maybe. But not just one or two going to spend money in a restaurant. I ended to going way over near Indian Rocks before I found a free place to park, which is of course a completely different area. It's nice to know there's a few places on the street and I did look around, but after my first visit, unfortunately it will be my last.
I'm not local, but not far from it. Being so close to that beach is pretty sad. I moved from Navarre/Pensacola Beach and we never paid to park and in fact there are county maintained lots that are free and there is no time limit. The restaurants have ample paring also and they do not charge their guests. I have no idea why people go to Clearwater; I didn't get a chance to find out, but saw a lot of people there. It might be a nice place, but I wouldn't know. Maybe if I find myself there before sunup one day I might get one of those spaces you talked about for 2 hours only. Later, it's hard to get into a busy restaurant and back in that length of time. I wouldn't like to get that parking ticket.
Clearwater will remain a place only on my TV when the news from Tampa is on (Lakeland doesn't have our own news station). Other than that, Clearwater remains only a myth to me. I have no incentive to return. Thank you for the video.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a great experience here. Unfortunately parking has become pricier and harder to come by but there are still some great spots if you get here early in the morning at the right times of year. If you ever consider giving it another try, I suggest visiting in October. School is in and snowbirds haven't arrived yet so it's much less crowed and even some parking rates drop. I hope you'll give it another try!

Hi @pointhaya6338 ! If you're paying at one of the kiosks, the prompts will appear on the screen to walk you through the process. It can be intimidating at first but it's actually quite easy!

@@clearwaterbeachlocals I hope it is easy like you said. I travel a lot. Airports and car parking is always something that I need to study before hand. Thanks again.
